The level of interest they have in exLeafs is beyond comical at this point lol

Who is their new GM?
Checked.
Stan Bowman, hire in July 2024.
He won 3 Cups with Hawks, but Stan Bowman - Wikipedia inherited the majority of the key pieces used for those Cups.

Not sure he has had much impact with the Oilers, other than losing 2 players to the Blues for a 2nd. and 3rd. round picks?

Klingberg, if he can regain form probably helps Oilers.

So you don’t have an answer?
Seriously, if you have to have it explained to you, it's a rather hopeless situation. If you honestly don't know, it's a very sad comment. Allegedly you follow this team... and you can't answer on your own, the good parts to our players games?? Go be difficult elsewhere.

He’s good transitionally, middling offense, poor defense.

They’d be fine with that 7.5M invested elsewhere.

As for Rielly, every season we hear it's impossible to move players with NMC and every year the player(s) get moved. Where there's a will, there's a way. But so far that doesn't apply to this current regime.

It's true, but his family is in the gta, and he likely gave the team a bit of a break on aav to get that full NMC. I'd suspect he'd just tell Leafs management to pound sand of they asked him to waive

On the Amazon series they showed Connor McDavid watching a Leafs game in the middle of the day in his spare time, and apparently that’s how they pro scout.

I'm convinced the team's pro scouts do most of their work just watching HNIC

With the 'JT Miller to NJD' trade talk my dream of a Nemec trade feels dead already

Leafs kicking sand in the Devils face 3 times this season ... motivation.

Trying to figure out a deal here based on Cap and no clause Devils.
Retention on Miller, 6 years, so tough unless Devils really make it worth it to Canucks.

Capspace Devils: $1.9mm

Miller - $8mm
$2mm retention

Dawson - $4mm
Tatar - $1.8mm (Canucks waive?)
Jets' 2nd round pick

???????
Erik Haula?

My theory is Edmonton’s idea of building a team is to replicate an ex-Leafs fantasy camp for McJesus.

Honestly when I see some of the crazy **** that happens I think that's how most teams evaluate talent 😅

So some want the Leafs to follow the path of trading for players who are not 100% healthy once again.

Foligno Gourde come on down.
Gourde is less than 50% face-offs last 2 years.

Gourde would make sense. He adds speed, tenacity and he's capable... kinda like a better version of Blackwell. Put him on a line with McMann, Pacioretty and/or Domi, seems really interesting. But the idea that a team will fork a first rounder for him seems weird considering he's not been that good the last couple years. But Foligno also had a ton of interest a few years ago and we paid a first for him, so nothing surprises me anymore.

I think he's in Giordano territory, and that'd be fair with retention. Especially if he's been "banged up".

I think Gourde may get the overpayment because of his playoff history and he's got the intangibles that playoff teams like
Those tend to be attributes people pay a premium for

If we're talking a 1st I'd rather go younger and look for term even if it means adding rather than get the older 1 year rental
