Two thoughts -- It may be a player they want to flip, or it might be a defenseman they like to build towards next season. Probably the first option if they find a buyer, if not then they can try again next season.

Yeah LA makes the most sense

Friedman did say if he's available and it's 'real' that's where Toronto will spend their best assets. I don't see how we win a bidding war for him and I don't see why Carolina would choose us over sending him West, though

The Leafs have always been big Rantanen fans. Even in his draft year, he was flown to Toronto pre draft for interviews.

I'm not surprised they're interested in him and if he's unsigned will be interested in the offseason as well!

Nashville has 5 picks in the first two round this year....honestly brother I can see them trading everyone over 30, and Bunting will be solid next season they should be able to get a 1st round + for him retained next tdl.

But yeah the Predators i think are going full rebuild this offseason, it makes sense to do it now as they can really stockpile there picks for the next 3years.
