This is it. Jays are going for it. Loading up for a strong push now.

Hopefully Price will want to re-sign, but we'll get to that when we get to that.

Do you people not realize that we **** out Pitching prospects and other elite prospects on the regular since AA came onboard?

The Cupboard was dry after the Marlins trade. We were fine. Our window is still the next 3 or so years. If Price doesn't re sign, we'll sign some other #1 guy with Buerhle and Dickey's contract money

Gotta love that Jays are holding on to Pompey and Alford with an aging Bautista and not having much OF depth in the first place. Jays might have to rely on them becoming major league players in the future.

Norris, Labourt, and Boyd? Woah, that's not even that bad. If we re-sign Price, it's an epic steal.

Norris is the only one that hurts. Labourt and Boyd profile as back of the rotation pieces.

Glad we can hold on to Alford and Pompey.

I predicted we would trade from our surplus of pitching....so not surprised. We have a lot of arms in the low minors but not many bats.

lol seriously

Like the fact that we continually trade top end pitching prospects probably means that we continually produce them too

Come on, if the Jays get a wild card spot they can easily beat a team like Houston. Especially if it's Price pitching that game. They are 2 games out, they can easily get a wild card spot. I am also not convinced that the Yankees are that good. They still have ~60 games to falter, and those old guys running out of steam.

HAHA. Love your blind optimism. The Jays have showed NO signs of catching the yankees, let alone the wildcard.

and we currently have the richest ownership in the league

if they want to spend, they can, and like I said, beurhle/dickey is $32m right there
Exactly. You don't want to overspend on everyone either . There comes a time where you spend money when its needed and right now is the perfect time to spend that money

Iirc the rocket revitalized his career here in Toronto, didn't he? Don't recall him being at the top of his game when we signed him

There was also a bit of a "**** you Boston" factor because signing with the Jays meant Clemens could stay in the AL East and stick it to the Sox because of how bitter he was at leaving.

What a week to be a jays fan, woooo, David Price makes this team legit.

To all you haters talking about giving up the farm, the window to win is small, I'm hyped AA has the balls to go for it unlike most other GMs out there. The team hasn't made the playoffs in over 20 years. 2015 WS here we come!

The window isn't that small. Tulowitzki's acquisition basically gives them another 3 years at least because Tulo/Donaldson/Martin can carry you past the end of the Buatista/Encarnacion era if that closes soon.

and the whole "they haven't made the playoffs in 20 years" thing is dumb. The previous 19 years have nothing to do with this year. If you make decisions based on what happened in previous years, you're asking for trouble.

this is a steal of a trade..you can be the biggest pessimist and you'd be hard pressed to be mad a this deal. Labourt is no sure thing and Boyd is ok...we basically gave up Norris for Price.

Except the fact that we have a better run differential, just picked up the best SS and a top 3 starter in all of baseball, and we play them 13 more times.

But hey, let's not let facts get in the way of Toronto-fan complaining.

Jays still have Stroman, Hutchinson and Sanchez as young starters/pitchers. It sucks that we lost our two top pitching prospects but for Tulo and Price I'm fine with it.
