For those who say the Jays can't resign Price. This is all about Rogers Communication opening up the fat wallet and understanding what they have here on there hands. They just acquired an ace who for the next 3-5 years will anchor a rotation and with Tulo, Donaldson, Martin, Travis among others now have retooled their window to win from this year to 3-5 down the road.

Rogers understand the Jays are not some tax write off and a place where you can hawks your bundles. There are real life fans wanting to see a winner and you have a good team now its about doing the Yankee way and spend to keep it together and provide the starve fans of Toronto a legit chance at a TITLE.

Ask Price for his "price" and say here ya go it is that simple.

If I'm AA, I'm negotiating with his agent right now and telling him I want him to be the highest paid starter in the league and that I want him to retire a blue jay.

That's the only way to keep him. A guy that close to free agency, they need to offer him what he would get on the open market...which would be basically a dump truck full of money.

Rogers could probably afford it if I had stayed with them for broadband instead of switching to TekSavvy. Sorry guys.

There's no reason they can't sign Price if they want to and he's open to staying.

Just because they haven't signed guys like Price in recent years, doesn't mean they won't do it in this case.

Enjoy the moment people. No doubt, this was a big price to pay, but the Jays are a couple of games out of a playoff spot and have just acquired the best SS in baseball and one of the best starters (who has loads of AL East experience) in the world.

It's okay to be excited and let the business aspects play out at a later date.

The thing about this deal is I feel like AA has leverage.

We have up all of this for David Price... Give me the money to make it worth it

While that's true, David Price and his agent also have leverage on the Jays.
"You just gave up the farm for me. There's no way you're willing ot just lose me for nothing."

That's why rentals often get overpaid if they stick around.

Also, just to illustrate how good our drafting has been... Matt Boyd? He was a punt pick. Same with Graveman.

We basically turned Lawrie, 2nd round pick Norris, 1st round pick Hoffman, two punted picks (Boyd, Graveman), and four IFA's who cost nothing but money (Barreto, Castro, Labourt, Tinoco) into Donaldson, Tulo, and Price.

People shouldn't be worried about what we gave up....it's obvious this team can cultivate assets. I'd be more worried if we didn't generate good young assets in the first place....but we continue to pump them out.
