Not to mention, I'd like to keep Max Domi as far away from this franchise as possible. The last thing the Leafs need is for Tie to have an excuse to walk into Tannenbaum's office and demand a close role with the team for his son...

Sandin is miles better now... and it's not close. Gustaffson is just not that good anymore. That's of course why Washington added a first.

I like what Dubas is doing. He acquired more size on D for a similar type of player to Sandin and at the same contract. And on top of that re-acquired a 1st rounder pick.

If possible I would like to see some more trades where our UFA's for next season are traded to recoup more picks. If we can somehow trade Kerfoot, Engvall and Holl for draft picks this would be a huge deal.

We can then flip that draft pick capital for other players to supplement the bottom 6 in our lineup with hopefully term for next season.

Acquisitions of OReilly, Acciari, McCabe, Lafferty and now Gustafsson are type of reinforcements this team needed. More grit, size, speed, defensive responsibility, PK capabilities and experience.

Arguing over our #7D seems pointless. We added a 1st and Gustafsson has been pretty solid this year.

Advanced numbers say he is better (GSVA, GAR). Ice time says he's better. Points say he is better. Not sure why you believe Sandin is better right now?
