Whats the deal with Jeremy Lauzon?

Young, Fast, gritty and physical. Former Bruin. Is he better than Luke Schenn?

Caps only have 3 defenders under contract for next year?
LTIR Carlson is one of them.

How about a couple cheap pick-ups.

TVR from Capitals
JVR from Flyers

Unless they could manage to get the 2 Schenns?
It's possible Leafs just do a couple more minor tweaks but I'd Iike to see a top 4 D brought in somehow to push guys into the right spots on the D.

Dubas was at the Gophers game last night. Was it to talk contract or trade with Knies, or go just randomly take in a Gophers game?

“Knies cashed in on Snuggerud’s rebound with Toronto Maple Leafs General Manager Kyle Dubas in the house.”
It occurred to me briefly it was to confirm he would sign after the NCAA season was over, or to trade him in a package if he had not intention to sign with us…..

……. I then filed that brief thought away and can’t wait to see him in our lineup soon!

Any interest in Greenway, from Minnesota?

He's having an atrocious season, at a capital of 3m for 2more seasons... But he use to be a defensive force not long ago... Good reclamation project,?

Friends with Matthews... 6'6 player that can play with an edge if pushed... Minnesota wants out of his contract.

Maybe a kerfoot swap? Depending on what we do at the TDL.. he might be a decent add...

Probably better for an off season move.

Ekholm is ideal but that contract is nasty work.

Would love a Jeannot + Lauzon package

This is why he may be available. ask yourself if that is who you want added to the team, or someone Dubas would find attractive.

I don't think there is much contract to discuss - ELC is pretty standard, i'm sure they may haggle over some bonuses but the Leafs have had a lot of success convincing their prospects to not take schedule B bonuses to ensure they get into the NHL quicker.

Could be there to even watch Mike Koster - another pick they may consider signing.

We own his rights until 2025. No reason to talk anything with him at this time, definitely doesn't need to talk trade with him. He was there to watch the game.

Also where are people getting the conclusion that he may not want to sign with us? He's been pumped about being a leaf since he was drafted.

Only good business to ask basically. I don't remember if we have his rights for one or two more years but still. I like that we're seeing if he's going to sign or trying to ship if not

100% I get where you're coming from.

What I'm saying is it looks like a change of scenery might help... His value will never be lower. We might even get a pick out of it.

Kerfoot + (contract dump)

For

Greenway + pick

Or

Kerfoot

For

Greenway (25% retained)

We get Greenway for 2 more season.. to try and mold him to a better player. He's friends with Matthews, maybe change of scenery with the leadership we have on the team now might steer his career in the right direction... He's definitely got the tools and potential.

What I'm saying is he's probably the biggest buy low candidate with a high ceiling... Don't think he can get any worse than what he is now..

I've moved onto Jeannot + Fabbro

Kerfoot + Robertson + Neimela + 2nd(2024)

Bunting-Matthews-Marner
Jarnkrok-Tavares-Nylander
Accari-O'Rielly-Jeannot
Zar-Kampf-Engvall

Rielly-Liljgren
Sandin-Brodie
Giordano-Fabbro

Good god. Listening to Kipper and Bourne show from Friday and they are saying a deal the Leafs should do is

Knies + Liljegren + Sandin + 1st 2025 for Chychrun + Brown

Good f***ing god. Do none of our media watch the games?
Besides that being terrible for the leafs who the f*** is brown?

Did they mean crous

I'd do sandin + 1st + knies for crouse and chychrun with retention or kerfoot ad a cap balancer

Edit: just searched the yotes roster and this is talking about Josh Brown

Lol we have a better version of Josh brown in Jordie benn

We could get a better version of Jordie benn in Luke schenn for 3rd

Isn’t Koster a Minnesota kid?
He might be the kind of prospect that’s moveable at the deadline along with someone more viable.
I keep thinking of small three-way deals: expiring Leaf plus modest prospect for rental, where the third team has eyes on the expiring Leaf for a pick.
Like, something like Kerfoot plus SDA for a different look rental. That team flips Kerfoot for a pick.
Something along those lines.

Yeah but Brown is 6 foot 5 and blocks shots

Not sure I would move Liljegren for Chychrun straight up tbh

 Lily has twice as many hits as Chychrun and more blocks.. and is the Leafs most reliable D.

What a god awful proposal.

What did Liljegren do to these guys to get his treatmwnt

When he didn't become a stud in his draft +2 after our high picks did that, these media guys made clowns of themselves saying he was a bust and got the narrative going that he put to bed last year. Now they can't admit they were wrong so they just pretend he is barely an NHLer or something. IDK, to me he is one of if not the most important pieces on our back end going forward.

I'd take Chychrun over lilijgren comfortably for their whole careers. Both are basically the same age (2016 draft class vs 2017 draft class). Chychrun is a great top-pairing defenseman who moves the puck well and brings offense on a very poor coyotes team.

I see chychrun excelling incredibly if we got him.

However, I don't want to deal lilijgren out in a deal to get chychrun. Lilijgren will be a prime Brodie-level player (great #2/3D) for the next 6-7 years and he is the perfect guy to pair with chychrun on our top pairing.

Sandin/Knies+ 2024 1st + 2025 2nd for Chychrun

If they offer Crouse in the deal drop the second and put in both Knies & Sandin
