Man, I've been all for giving him up to 6x6, but now he's just being stupid.

Any chance he's stripped of the C?

For the next 3 days to 3 months? No.

His legacy here is sort of shot, but considering how people look back at Drury the legacy of NYR captains isn't exactly sacred.

We didn't want to keep Dubi @ ~4m, but getting Stewart @ ~4mil in return for Callahan is acceptable/the best we can get?
You remember Dubinsky was the centerpiece in the Rick Nash trade, right? Nash is a pretty big part of this offense.

Always liked Cally, but Im here with the consensus... and its time to ship him out. That's too much, and its good to see Glen not diving into another overpaid contract.

That said, it's gonna be interesting to see who they get for him. What happened to all that Yakupov talk from earlier? Hahahahah.

There's no possible way Callahan can really believe he's worth 7 mill a year. That's fringe first liner money. Not even fair market value.

He's scored 30 goals 0 times.

7:15PM: “The Rangers are still trying to lock down Dan Girardi. There is a chance….a chance that it happens this week. If Girardi doesn’t come to terms this week then it sends a tough sign to the Rangers because he has earned UFA rights and he may be willing to wait until July 1 but that could throw him into the group of speculation with Ryan Callahan on the trade front.”

Dreger on NHL live.

Maybe Girardi is on his way out as well.

I don't blame Callahan for asking for all that cash, he has seen so many idiotic contracts handed out by Sather, he might as well try and get one himself.

Thankfully Sather has not budged, and given it to him.

I guess Anton's fate is linked to Girardi's, rather than Girardi's being linked to Cally's.

What a mess. We all knew this day was coming, though.

Much MUCH rather toss Girardi while we still can. Dude is going to be brutal in 2 years once he loses his foot speed, its average as is, but any slower and he will wade redden 2.0.

Hopefully Sather can see that

Or, he'll be this team's Chris Phillips.

This was going to be question. Lots of talk on Callahan, no contract for Girardi either. Not good. If neither get one, move them both.

I've said it before but I found it some what concerning that Girardi's camp has said nothing over the last few days.

This whole situation has disaster potential.

For whatever the reason, seems like Callahan wants to be elsewhere. Starting to look like Girardi is gonna be tough to squeeze in also. If you break down the numbers for all the raises we have to hand out, it is quite large. Especially if Kreiders' deal is long term.
