Why would you assume that based on everything Nill's said?

I like the idea for sure, but nothing that's been said recently would make be think it's a possibility.

Speed speed speed combined with Whitney on the move?

I dunno. I'm bored and I want SOMETHING to happen around here. At least I didn't suggest Benn for JMFJ's underwear something equally inane.

Sorry I meant Nill talking about adding guys that will impact the team for 2 or 3 years.

He seems totally disinterested in free agents at the deadline.

Heard a rumor today that Edler may have been asked to waive his no trade to go to Dallas? E3

Taking what Heika said about Nill's AHL prowess .... what about Freddie Hamilton for Ray Whitney. I've brought Hamilton up before. He played with Ritchie and Oleksiak in Niagara, and he's leading Worcester in scoring.

I'd even add a bit like Dallas did with Morrow-Morrow.

Sure, why not? But do we really want another forward? Who, at worst is an AHL superstar when we have AHL superstars in Morin, Sceviour and Mueller?

They need another center next year if Fiddler is gone. Hamilton could be that guy. IIRC Hamilton might have centered Ritchie on Niagara's checking line during their run to the OHL Finals. I don't want him because of his familiarity though with Ritchie.

Nill's conversation with BaDD Radio makes it seem like Heika is barking up the right tree ... closer to ready NHL assets.

Because Whitney is old, slow, and potentially unmotivated to be in Dallas. Flip him for another young guy who can fill in now, or give that spot to Sceviour.

Uh, yes, but I was just saying, why Freddie Hamilton when we have a few NHL-ish 4th liners available.

I'm not opposed to it, but... come on really, I'd make the move if Sceviour had no intention of staying with the organization.

The main point is that Freddie is a 22 year old, ready to break in the NHL young guy. Morin and Mueller are "AHL All Stars" also known as "AHL Lifers".. Freddie isn't that he isn't 28-30.

There is also that, yes.

F it, G, post it in trade and see if you can get a bite.

Maybe a better target from SJ would be Taylor Doherty. He's never played an NHL game, and he'll require waivers next year. That's not great from a Dallas POV, but that would be potential reason he could be available (see Connauton).

He's a big, right shot D.

I'm not trying to sell you on it .... just trying the shotgun approach out of boredom.

I think Heika might be right ... the AHL player approach seems reasonable.

Girardi sounds like hes all but done agreeing to a contract with NY per Larry Brooks and others.

That could potentially make Robidas the best right shot D potentially available. Someone would probably have to wow Nill, but this make that a possibility.

Toss up ... I'm biased .... I give the edge to Robidas over MacDonald and Gilbert as the best potential available rental.

Miller and Ott trade should help set the bar in terms of cost for rentals

Miller as high of a rental as they come and Ott a solid veteran mid level player
