He was very impressive (just snakebitten) yesterday against the Wild.I haven't really been impressed by him lately.

I'd take my chances on someone like Backstrom depending how he does the next couple of years. I'd even take Mikka Kiprusoff possibly as a stop gap. They'd be older, but they'd be much cheaper and all we need is a stop gap anyway hopefully.
Kipper is finally starting to break down, which is understandable given how hard they ride him (is there a more blindly stubborn franchise in all of sports?). So no, I'd pass on him as well.
I don't even know if the vertigo has caused him to become unreliable. He's just got an awful 5 hole. He's also a boring Allaire butterfly.
I'd love to have Ondrej Pavelec. If the Jets didn't have one of the worst defensive systems in the league, he'd be a top 10 goalie for sure.
In before ''He had a 906 save percentage last year and has an 886 now, would would suggest he's a below average goaltender.''
Well, call me crazy but I think Marty will actually play (effectively) a little past that point, so stopgap might only be necessary for the backup, if Moose doesn't stick around.
Pavelec can be a beast when he's on his game, he's just never had a very solid D surrounding him. He is very underrated. The Jets would be foolish to get rid of him.
Michalek plz
Pavelec is wildly inconsistent and Kipper already stinks. Why are we discussing our goaltending situation anyway?
We're talking a stop gap here. You would pass on Kipper before you would Jose Theodore? Or Nabokov? Those could be our options come 2014. You know Wedgewood, or Kinkaid won't be the starter in 2014 whether Marty retires or not. With Frazee up there who isn't a free agent until 2014, I think it would take an injury to him, or Kinkaid to get an AHL spot. That or an injury to one of our guys which would cause one of the Albany tandem to fill in with the big club.
My ears perked up when I heard he was scratched the other night, and giving Elias another Czech to play with is never a bad idea... but I don't think he goes anywhere unless they're in full panic mode.
They don't seem to be approaching that point yet - but we'll see how they feel around the deadline, I guess.
Kiprusoff will be like 39 by the time Marty hangs them up
no thank you.
