Lou didn't sell 2 yrs ago he won't now...Lou has said in the past he doesn't believe in selling.

Plus who would he trade ?

He's gonna try and bring back all of our UFA's.

Eh... One or maybe two of our blueliners since we have two NHL caliber d-men who are watching from the press box since day #1 :dunno:

I might be in the minority but I think we should move one of our blue liners for picks, we wouldn't be sellers because I have full confidence that this team healthy can make a real run (if we don't meet Boston or the pens) really when you look at our forwards we have a very solid group without injuries. If we can stay the course and not sustain any more injuries we should be totally healthy come playoff time.

I agree.

The fact that Fayne isn't a regular is just a crime IMO.

Gelinas looks more and more ready to make the jump to the NHL next season and there's buried in the AHL Urbom too. I'd re-sign Zids to a one year contract to give Gelinas a full season to make the transition. Harrold should come back because he is cheap as ****. Adam and Salvador won't be traded. Amnesty buyout aside, Volchenkov and his contract are unlikely to get moved. Remains Tallinder and Fayne.

That makes a lot of defence-man for the next season.

If he would be wiling to land a job as a assistant, he would be perfect for us. He's a wizard when it comes to operating a PP and lord knows how we can use someone to help our mediocre PP. I would garantee you this... Kovy would be playing on the left half board, ala Stamkos, instead of the point.

I feel like we've been saying this for 10 years now.

I agree, our defensive corps is making Urbom redundant, We've got enough defensive defence-men already.

serious question, is that what urbom is? honestly, i dont remember anything about him except his goal or awesome play or something in our last game of that dreaded year. i always thought he had SOME offensive ability- a little more than salvador, but less than zid

He was more of a Harrold his last time up - couldn't cover the post and let his guy score in tight. :sarcasm:

i personally dont think there is any remote chance he would make it through to the devils in the waiver order even if they did put in a claim

We're at 50 contracts now. We can't make a waiver pickup without losing someone to waivers ourselves first.

Kostopolous or Barch we could do without. I say no way Jussi makes it to us though. How does the waiver wire work in the NHL? Is it worst record gets first dibs and so on?

Goodbye Pesonen.

If this is true and the Devils are the team to get the Marty killer I fully expect the reaction of this board and the main board to be the following:

Basically.

Jokinen would have to clear waivers, then we waive someone tomorrow who gets claimed, then Jokinen re-placed on waivers for us to claim. We couldn't claim him with 50 contracts on the books.

I'm sure Rutherford worked the phones on a trade, and given our, and probably other's, situation re: reserve list, we could have made a Barch type trade to even out the contracts. Unless Carolina - also at 50 contracts - is trying to clear out a space for another deal.

I honestly think this team is set right now.

Henrique-Loktionov-Kovalchuk
Elias-Zajac-Clarkson
Ponikarovsky-Zubrus-D'Agostini
Carter-Gionta-Bernier

Except Gionta, Kovy and Zubrus are all injured. We won't be 100% set until four weeks from now at the very most.

Fully healthy like this, the forwards aren't half bad. We should just trade one of our defensemen for a pick or obviously get a top 6 winger if the opportunity arises(which it probably wont). Fully healthy we are capable of winning a playoff series if we play like we're capable.
