lol at the notion decreasing a player's icetime by one-two minutes a game is going to drop 25-33% of a guy's entire point production. You disprove your own hypothesis with the last stat, it wasn't minutes that factored in since his PPG in 60 minutes fell down an elevator shaft for two years. You can blame it on playing with 'third-liners' last year, they were putting him with third-liners because his play was meriting it.
And he had 84 points three years ago, not 79. He went from 40-44-84 and +36 to 21-33-54 and +9 in 'more' games played (73 games played in '09/10, 77 in '11/12) over a two year span. I'm sure he wasn't playing with third-liners all the time, or on the PP either.
I said 79+ because he has two seasons with 19 mins one with 79 pts and one with 84 points. His total time on ice dropped because he was playing less PP and less with the team's top line (Backstrom).

2011 - 1.55
2010 - 2.91
2009 - 2.61
2008 - 2.72
We are a team that needs a solid 1st line LW to play with Kovy and Semin is a FA next season. I think it would be a prefect match.
I still find it funny that people bash Semin production on ice the last two seasons when he was a lot more productive than Kovy 5on5 for those two seasons.
