The Rangers have 3 off days before the deadline. Today,Sunday and Tuesday. If they make a trade with a non US born player playing in Canada, there's an immigration issue.

I'd trade Hank and see what we can get because he's too good for this team :P Plus I have a heart and Hank doesn't deserve the crap he puts up with almost every night.

2nd round pick and a prospect is the ask for Roy. Willing to pay that price? The Rangers would go into a good draft without their top 2 picks. Priceless.

Yeah, not worth it.

Rangers are better off being sellers at the deadline. No point to try to make moves to get the 8/7th seed just to get knocked out in the first round.

If the Rangers make the playoffs, lets go with most of what we got.

No point in making trades for a guy like Clowe or Roy.

We should be trying to add more picks, not trade them away. We don't have our 1st this year because of the Rick Nash trade.

Is there any chance they make a multi player deal with a team like Calgary?

Gaborik, Boyle, Pyatt, Gilroy for ..........fill in the blanks

This team is just flat and small...no jam...no Derek Roy's, no Dan Boyle, enough with soft players.

The Sen's owned us last night and if they wanted to they could have made us their *****es. How many years does Sather have to watch Neil abuse us before he finds a response.

Either Torts goes or Gabby goes...because the marriage is over.

I would call Dave Nonis and see if he has any interest in Gabby, ask for Tyler Biggs, Joe Colborn and Brad Ross.

we did get owned.. but i think Paulie Mc is one of the best coaches in the league.. hes got his team playing on all cylinders, and we're still searching for ours.. this teams issue stem off Richards and Gabs.. if they arent playing well we arent going to win games.. its really as simple as that.. bc if they were going wed be up there with the cream of the crop of teams..

its sad bc they get paid the money to compete and put us on the score board.. nash has lived up to his expectations, stepan and hags have exceeded them but these guys are failing miserably and thats the reason we're struggling the most.. get them going this team gets going..

we need tough guys to replace the powes, pyatts of the world and we'll be good.. get me torres and/ clowe and thats a start..

do any of you guys think haley could become our next Prust with grooming and development?

The Rangers need to make the playoffs. They should make the playoffs. Two spots are open. They are not selling. They aren't going to be crazy buyers either.

I dont want Dan Boyle but he is far from soft. he fought Corey Perry the other night. he had more fights in his NHL career then the Rangers team as a whole right now :help: if his contract was 2-3 mil id take him but not at his current contract. http://www.hockeyfights.com/players/536 http://www.hockeyfights.com/fights/42256

Rangers Kings Idea

Rangers get Nolan, Fraser, Clifford, rights to Oscar Moller and 1st
Kings get Gaborik, Powe and Bourque

Rangers get some grit and depth. Kings get some help on RW...

Listen, no player in hockey is soft...but Boyle is not what we need...he is old, small and expensive...we need Doug Murray...we need Chris Neil...we need to push back...there is no resistance.

The Bruins are what everyone else is trying to become...the Pens added 3 hard nosed edge guys.

The Sens lineup is littered with all big kids

Bourque has such little value.

I don't think that's enough from our end.

I see no sense in trading Gaborik for a bunch of depth players. Especially ones who can't bring offense to the lineup. We trade one guy who isn't scoring for a bunch of guys who aren't scoring? For what? Pointless move.

Kings don't have their first. It was traded to Columbus in the Jeff Carter trade.

doh! i didnt realize that grrr... Rangers must try to get a first for Gaborik..

any chance Boyle Powe Pyatt get dealt for depth and Christian Thomas Andrew Yogan, Mashinter or Ferreiro gets called up?? Rangers need more speed scoring and grit.... Ferreiro didnt look out of place when the Rangers traded for him..

Not. Enuff. JAM

Not. Enuff. JAM

Thomas Ferriero would help more in the lineup then stone hands Boyle Powe and Pyatt :help: maybe Yogan can do the same things as Pyatt :help: worth the risk... Yogan has some jam to his game, can also throw down as well...

I agree with this, and that we should just stay the course right now rather than try to make any kind of "splash" at the deadline, but the reality is that even if we do make the playoffs... there ain't much gonna happen during them. Judging by anything that's gone on this season I don't think anyone has much faith in their ability to make it anywhere. I don't. Sucks to say, but that's that.

I'm OK with it though. Wipe out this year and make some changes to the roster for next season. Bad moment to not have a first, but we still have a good core. I love the Nash acquisition no matter what. Step is turning out great. Hank is Hank, the defense is solid. We can turn this around without making drastic changes or rebuilding.

Pittsburgh traded Colby Armstrong,Erik Christensen,2007 first rounder Angelo Esposito and 2008 first rounder(Atlanta wasted the pick on a failed college player) to Atlanta for Marian Hossa(rental) and Pascal Dupuis. If the Rangers can get a deal like that for Gaborik, pull the trigger. A team acquiring Gaborik gets him for 2 playoff runs. 2 roster players and 2 young assets. Armstrong was a useful player at that time.

Gaborik and McIlrath for Vanek and one of Leopold or Regehr. Just a starting point. We get someone who can play LW (not too sure if he can play RW even though he is a RHS), Buffalo gets a replacement and toughness on the blueline.

I think that's what a lot of us are hoping for. Cap hit also needs to be taken into account though. I don't remember Hossa having as high of a cap hit as Gaborik.

Gaborik should fetch a Top 6 forward, good prospect, 1st or Top 6 Forward and a Top 4 defenseman. The Rangers just need to find a taker at the right time for the right players. He did score 41 goals just last season after all.

:shakehead Come on, Atlanta got fleeced and it was known at the time it happened too.
