Confirmed with Link: Klingberg signs in Edmonton

His puck movement is a major asset. How he defends is what will make or break his time here though. I personally wouldn't mind another RHD that can replace either Klingberg or Emberson if we need a different look on the right side. I think the left side is set unless we try to play Kulak with Nurse. I personally think that that pairing could run into issues in the playoffs when time and space are taken away much quicker.

You make a very fair point, but I see the team only adding 1 more to the blue line and with Stetcher (RHD) as our current number 7 I believe the odds are this new player will be left handed. Hopefully this player is bigger and is someone that can bust up the opposing teams cycles.

Who do you replace on the left side? Or would the plan be to play Kulak with Nurse.

I just think it's going to be a 7/8 LHD that will play when there is an injury or if one of our players (Emberson/Klingberg) aren't pulling their weight. Our TDL assets will be spent on a forward.

Ekholm Bouchard
Nurse Klingberg
Kulak Emberson

Stetcher
Depth LHD?

I don't think I remember seeing this kind of puck movement since CFP and a bit with Duncan.

If he has a good attitude and listens to Coffey and Stuart I believe he can be coached into becoming a better defenceman. Drai isn't busy right now, maybe they can run drills or something so Klingberg can practice with an elite player

The guy was a Norris contender a few years ago, among the best in the game back when he was healthy. Coaching will help him adjust into the system and with his teammates, but I find it hard to agree that coaching is going to make him a better player than he already has the ability to be.
