If Montreal is even CONSIDERING moving Subban. We better be in on it. He's exactly what our defense lacks.

Would move anyone but McD to get him, including Kreider.

I thought about Subban... I think they ultimately resign him. Although I wonder what a package it would take to resign him.

We could also wait it out and see how it plays out. If he elects arbitration he'd be a UFA after next year... conceivably for our taking.

Interesting thought, but I'd be shocked if they didn't give him whatever it takes to keep him. And if they moved him, I highly doubt Callahan (or Girardi for that matter) would serve as a centerpiece given that he himself is unsigned and I'm not sure what else we have of real value that we could move to get him without creating a hole elsewhere.

But - how about Galchenyuk for Cally plus a prospect...? :)

I'd start with a signed Girardi, Lindberg, and Fast.

Next year is make or break for Kristo I think. If he can't make the Rangers out of camp, he'll be 25 years old and not have a single game of NHL experience. It wouldn't be looking good for him as far as an NHL career.

I'd trade a hefty sum for Subban. But I think they only way we'd get him is moving McDonagh.

You could try to get him for something like Staal, Stepan, 1st, but really what sort of situation is our center ice at without Stepan?

And if NYR are going to chance Vanek they might as well give Gaborik a call too.

Kristo just graduated college and turned 23 in June. I wouldn't start worrying about his age just yet. I would like to see him get some games in by the mid point of next year though… I haven't seen Hartford play this season, but his numbers are solid and I liked his game in preseason.

I would give organs to get Galchenyuk on our team. That would be a bigger steal than McD for Gomez.

I think Montreal would riot if we got Pacioretty for Callahan.

haha of course i dont blame them if they did.. its funny their have been reports that patches and subban arent working well with therrien and there "not his type of players" something ridiculous like that..

but what if they see value in signing cally and come to some sort of agreement.. its crazy but no far fetched.. cally is still a 25 goal scorer 50pt player.. its the entire package teams like.. low maintenance player, leadership, grit, does what hes asked..

i am just speculating the big "what if" crazy but nothing should come as a surprise

Teams like the Rangers too.....

Anyone think kristo could make the team next year?

Yes, but it depends on a couple of circumstances: Cally trade, Pouliot rest of season performance, and whether he can play LW. Even if Cally goes, Fast gets first shot IMO. Figure he shuttles between bigs and the A next year as first call up.
