so who are the more likely teams to sign Sustr coming out of college? Strang says 25 teams are looking to sign him, including the Rangers.

Believe the main board said in the past he has attended Rangers, Tampa, and Pitt prospect camps, not sure if that will matter?

For who ever who says trading Gaborik would be a mistake, a mistake would be not to trade him... He is SOFTTTTT, he is not for this team does not fit, we a power forward like Kassian.

Sather when Perry resigned:

Market for Gaborik rose a ton. Same with Iginla too I guess.

the amount of scouts tn is wild.. its like half the league almost.. if its gabs then it has to be the perfect pieces or we keep him.. he looked better tonight as did richards.. so much better then the past few games/weeks..

i hope we just tweak the bottom 6.. i want toughness out there.. guys that make opponents keep their heads up bc they know theyll get poped..

ok now get me torres!! i am dying to see palmieri in blue.. think he could help bottom 6 scoring..

Link to how many scouts were at MSG tonight?

I'm happy for the ducks that they were able to re-sign both. Will wait to see this contract though. Ducks are not a rich team.

I love the fans who complain Gaborik is soft. As if every NHL team has 18 physical skaters night in and night out. I guess many fans were devastated by Bure's performances throughout his career....

Gimme a break. Part of building a team is developing a mix of "soft" skilled players and grinders. You can complain gaborik isn't physical but how many players have the hands and sniping ability that he does on the roster? And of course I know we'll have the smart ***** who will point out he isn't scoring....right now. Because he will score another goal this year, he will score more than just a goal. Trading him will be a mistake, at least trading him this year will be. The return would not be enough to provide what he can.

agreed... boston has the closest.. physical play dictates the tone of the game and pace.. i think thats why we were successful last year.. its just hard finding players that fit that style..

i wouldn't trade gabs unless we were getting the ultimate package.. 1st, top prospect and young guy with a lot of potential.. not a lot of teams are risk takers and would do that trade.. but i can tell you one thing sather is stupid when trading..id keep him unless package was perfect.. but when you look at our bottom 6.. thats where we have issues.. we need at the very least a lw tough guy who is gritty and has some offense.. torres is the perfect guy and would cost a lot..

Hes invisible even when he does score. Accept the truth man, hes soft, floats on the ice, loses the puck every time he touches it, his shot doesn't look that good anymore, he doesn't look as quick, he also scores in huge gaps.. He does not help this team, sorry.

Crazy trade thought of the day.

At the Draft, deal Gabs, use some assets from that trade and some other assets to get bobby ryan

Easy!

You know what you're right, 7 GWG/3 OT goals last year wouldn't help any team. I completely see that. Give me a break. You don't wanna like the guy that's fine, but don't spew out crap, because when you're done giving your "opinion" its still just crap.

Though he has struggled this year, he still is 3rd in scoring on the team, has 4 GWG/2 OT.

But hey we'd rather have a bunch of dubinsky's on this team because the grinding game is so much more appealing. Who cares if we may get lucky and score a goal here and there, as long as we can hit people and knock them on their ass we'll be successful.

Just laughable with the "experts" we have on these boards.

That's a lot of assets and it may not be enough anyway.
It will take a kings ransom to get Bobby from Anaheim with that contract.

And apparently a 20 game sample is enough to draw definitive conclusions about his play.

gabs still a game changer.. i wouldnt trade him just to trade him...

hahaha to getting bobby ryan.. teams will be lining up and selling the farm to get him..

hes signed way below market value, that ducks will do same thing like they did with perry/getzs.. wait to the deadline see if they can sign him or not.. if not they'll trade him..

odds are tho hell be traded then bc he'll easily get 7m AAV on an open market.. i just dont think they'll trade him till his deals almost up in 14/15'

I think we are all hoping for a return of Player + Pick + Prospect for Gabs. Assuming we get that, I think we could put together a package to get him.

My point is that the Ducks don't have 14 mill in cap space right now for no reason. They aren't a cap team.

Well think of it this way, if Ducks open an auction for Ryan, the bidding is going to be fierce.
