Maybe your just looking at his stats but take a look.. Gaborik Has 2 goals in the last 22 games. The first give games, he score a hattrick and had a two goal game..

Maybe its just me but I dont care about his past, he's had some pretty good seasons for us but, if he sucks now he sucks..., Point Blank. He is not helping this team at all.. I hate his effort, he's lazy and does not fit Torts system. Sure maybe he can come back from this slump but hes always invisible even when he does score like I've stated before. Maybe he needs a coach that is for him.

I would rather have a 25-30 goal scorer with a cheaper contract that plays hard, hits and plays defense rather than a player who can score 45, thats soft and does no contribute on the other side of his game. Maybe if we didn't have Rick Nash I would hesitate a little just to see if he will bounce back, but we have some pretty decent scores behind Nash... (Hagelin and Callahan) We just need bottom 6 scoring pretty much and were pretty good.

Don't shoot me down cause this is what I believe, but I believe we should trade Gaborik some how.. I think we could get a second liner and a bottom 6 player for Gaborik. Maybe its just me.

Believe me, it's not just you. Many fans I talk to can't stomach Gaborik's inconsistency and one dimensional game. Trading him now for the right pieces might be the best thing for the team going forward.

I think most Rangers fans would love to get Kassian here, the question is are we willing to take a cap dump like Booth or Ballard to do it.
Yeah that will be the issue. But a reasonable deal I wouldn't mind, we would have alot of money from Gaborik being traded and maybe Richards being bought out.. But also with all that money we need to Resign players so it would be difficult to figure out what to do

For me we need to add more of both speed and toughness to the lineup. Trading one for the other doesn't help.

Well I agree, no to the Hagelin - Kassian trade.
Without Hagelin, we become a slower team and he is the catalyst for any line he is on. Like I said in the GDT, I thought he had a great night tonight. He was the best Ranger player on the ice. He is the energizer bunny.
To me that answers how badly we want Kassian. I don't want him badly enough to take back a cap dump either.

Sather has a good working relationship with Don Maloney, wouldn't surprise me he gets a deal done with the Coyotes at the deadline. Not for Gaborik, but maybe something minor, they have a slew of Dman.

Think about this, the Canucks, a team that was critcized by the media for being too soft against the Bruins in the SCF go out and trade their prized, groomed high end center prospect to fill a need for a Kassian type and he still can't crack the top 6. There is no way in hell I trade Hags for Kassian.

Can you ppppllllllleeeeeeeaaaaaaasssssssseeeeeee change your avatar, it gives me the creeps.

I REALLY don't wanna trade Gabby. I think with some added depth, he can return to what we've seen. Not many teams have a big three like Gaborik, Richards and Nash, so we have to find a way to make it all work. I thought tonight that they played well. I noticed Nash a lot and I though Gaborik did some good things too.

I proposed this on the trade board early today. It got pretty good responses from the three fan bases.

:rangers

Receive:
Vancouver's 2013 1st.
Kassian
Booth/Raymond
Edmonton's 2013 2nd.

:nucks

Receive:
Gaborik
Edmonton's 2014 1st
NYR's 2013 3rd

:edmonton
Receive:

Luongo
Boyle

Analysis:

NYR essentially replenishes what the team lost in the Nash trade, receiving two roster players and a first round pick in this year's draft. Vancouver get's the goalscorer they are in the market for while simulatenously clearing Luongo's salary to fit Gaborik easier. Vancouver also receives Edmonton's 2014 first round pick which is likely to be somewhere between excellent (first overall) to fair (about twelfth or so) and NYR's 2013 3rd. Edmonton receives the NHL ready players at positions that desperately need filling, those positions being in net and at 3C. Note that I did not have Edmonton giving up their 1st this year because

1.) They know it's more likely to be sweeter than the 2014 pick
2.) They're trading their 2nd round pick to NYR in this scenario, which would leave them without a 1st and a 2nd at the draft if they trade this year's 1st too.
3.) They know that Vancouver still sees value in their 2014 pick.

With Raymond, hell yes!

That's not a minor trade

I never said a minor deal. We're deep in terms of prospects. I think we should take a look at Torres, Boyd Gordon, Zbynek Michalek, Vermette, Hanzal on the Yotes. Whether some combination for Gabby, or in another deal for prospects or something. I would love Michalek actually. He could shore up our defense big time

Would you guys do Raffi Torres, Michalek and a first rounder for Gabby?

I saw this before. Seems like a solid deal and something I would be happy with as a Rangers fan, even though I don't want Gabby gone. I think the hardest part would be to convince the Oilers to do the deal. But maybe they can be replaced by a team like the Leafs or Panthers (just off the top of my head).

I agree. It looks great on paper, but convincing the draft pick hoarders to part with their top two picks isn't likely to happen.

I agree, getting Edmonton to agree would be the hardest part soley because of the term length on Luongo's contract. Other than that this would be a pretty hitchless deal. The teams you listed are good options too in case Edmonton balks.

50/50. Don't love Michalek's contract but that's a solid return. Still leaning towards no though. Need a young player coming back for me to say yes.

After we amnesty Richards, whenever that is next year, we can't afford the risk with his contract, we are stuck with who we sign or acquire. Cap space is more likely to go down. we need be careful we don't get stuck.

We are good w/Nash, Hank
Gaborik + Richards will be applied to replacements and upcoming players we wanna retain, our young core.

1 The price of acquisition aside, we have to be careful about keeping a Bobby Ryan type going forward (unless you are gonna repurpose like Staal + Girardi for it)

2 The price of acquisition matters. Idea is to add quality to Kreider + depth, not sacrifice Kreider + depth.
No to Kreider + Hags + for Ryan
