If true it's either snow has seen enough of schultz to make the deal or snow has backed off of his original top 4 target.

Rnh and schultz for hamonic and um...nelson please.

I could also see nurse being a guy in a package but that would be pricey as hell. It would warrant the "multiple players" though since a nurse deal would need the trade to be significantly expanded and it still burns.

What was the finnish commentator's name?

Antti Mäkinen. I'm pretty sure he has no connections whatsoever, he's just sitting in some studio in Helsinki commenting the games and citing trade rumours other people write. Just wanted to ask if you guys knew any more about this, but I'd guess he's just been reading Eklund as well.

That would make the most sense.

I just saw that, sorry! I can't say that I'm thinking straight right now seeing as I'm off to my grandfathers funeral in a few hours and might get the news that one of my favorite Oilers is being sent to another team.

My condolences bud.

I would be disappointed with a Hamonic/Neilson return.

Neilson is 31 and an impending UFA.

It's Strome/Nelson coming back with Hamonic if it's up to me. We add value going back.

No way Nurse being part of a deal is an option. We need to add players like him, not substitute them.

I still like the idea of a deal centered around RNH to Minny, Brodin to NYI and Hamonic+Coyle to Edm. Would likely have to be a few more pieces added but that's the kind of return I'd like to get.

Nelson would be a nice haul along with Hamonic.

I'd be down with that as well although I like Coyle more than most.

I would love that too but I think another piece from the Oilers would have to go to both the Wild and Isles.

My condolences bud.

Thanks.

I'd be all over something involving Coyle, but I can't see the Wild offering him up in any kind of deal.

Has he "broken out" this season? He's been mostly unfulfilled potential but he is big, strong, very good around the net, basically a perfect fit here for our PP.

I believe it is Per Eklund :sarcasm:

I would also like to pass along my condolences to you and your family BBO.

Thanks

My condolences BBO.

Thanks. I really don't want to clutter the thread so I won't be responding to these responses beyond this one and would just like to thank all of you again for your thoughtfulness, it is greatly appreciated.

I'd agree in full. RNH would command more coming back than Hamonic.

Gotta wonder if it's something like Hamonic + Mayfield or Cizikas for RNH and one of our scrub D.

I'm not sure... Mayfield doesn't really do it for me and although Cizikas would be useful, it just seems like the Oilers are giving up a lot more value. Then again, I really like Nugent-Hopkins.

I wouldn't want it to happen, trust me.

Don't get me wrong you could potentially cobble together a Nuge + Fayne and prospects but why would the deal not have already been done?

It's probably not even true anyway. But if it were I would expect either Snow came down to Schultz or Chia forced into trading Nurse to get something done but in turn it expands the trade to generate more assets.

The "multiple pieces" deal is confusing though because often times that just means depth players.....if the rumour is really making a point to suggest a multiple player deal than you'd have to think there are major players/prospects involved beyond just Nuge and Hamonic.

Coyle and Kassian (if he gets his **** together) would be really nice fits on our top 6 wings.

Yeah Mayfield probably tops out as a Gryba type IMO. I wonder if Anders Lee is a guy that they'd part with? Nelson has damn near as many points as RNH does so I'm not sure that they'd add him to Hamonic unless we added something significant to RNH.
