My money is on Muzzin, either way it’ll be a shocker. Our trades with the Leafs are always unpredictable
The ladies in Toronto will be sad to see him go if traded here lol
Revenues climb, contracts come off the books, cap goes up. It’s simple economics, 5M dollars in the NHL today will be 8M in 4 years with growth. Eventually if the team gets very good there will be seasons where salary is higher than cap but revenues will be higher as well.Ok, so what about the season after that? We can't backload forever. We'll have to pay Stutzle, plus have to deal with larger salaries from backloading. The budget is only going to get tighter and tighter.
It's unlikely we'll be able to keep Brown after the season, so we should move him now while he has value, we have needs (top 4 defenseman, sweeteners for dumping Murray/Zaitsev). If we bring Giroux in, we're way too deep up front, and too thin on D. Playing Joseph on the 4th line while we have Hamonic in our top 4 is silly.
Not really, but it could be worse. The contracts have the same length with 600k (I think) in the difference. Would give Ottawa a passable RD for two years. Better than Zaitsev.Would we be happy with Muzzin if he was the top 4 D-man they were talking about acquiring?
One under pressure to win and who literally does not have a goalie and who can get assets backWhy would any GM in the NHL, after watching Murray over the past two years in Ottawa, logically think that trading for him is a good idea to improve your goaltending situation?
Dude, I guarantee there was more than Kassian for Del Zotto and the Murray to Buffalo makes sense in terms of a 3 way.Not liking the sounds of all the ‘failed’ trade attempts by Ottawa; we almost took on Kassian to get rid of MDZ according to Seravelli.
On the right side, the last time a failed trade was reported (Murray to BUF) we traded for Debrincat shortly after. Here’s hoping something good comes out…

Holl is not an upgrade on Hamonic.Any guess what the trade will be for Murray ? Wonder if we get back Holl ? Not sure that’s good enough in terms of an upgrade on RD.
Yeah look at what edm paid to get rid of Kassian. Mdz has one year left only. We were likely getting some picks back. But then again some of dorions move that he did make would have sounded crazy if they were leaked beforehandDude, I guarantee there was more than Kassian for Del Zotto and the Murray to Buffalo makes sense in terms of a 3 way.
Muzzin has NTCSeems reasonable. We get a bit more contract space and fill a roster hole. They fill a bigger roster hole.
Im hoping for no more than 25% retained and I really don’t want Dorion paying our 2023 1st
It blows my mind that there's any interest whatsoever, even creatively where you're not giving up much. I just want this guy gone more than anything. Remove the distraction. Why would any GM in the NHL, after watching Murray over the past two years in Ottawa, logically think that trading for him is a good idea to improve your goaltending situation?

Stop.906 SV% playing behind a putrid defense isn't terrible.
Outside of the 1st couple weeks where the team defense was perhaps the worst I've seen in years, Murray was pretty solid this season. Rebounded very nicely but couldn't stay healthy.
If the Leafs can't sign Kuemper or Campbell, Murray is arguably the best goalie available.
