Moving Murray allows Ottawa to bring in one of Giroux or a top-4 D.

Moving Zaitsev and Connor Brown allow Ottawa to bring in Giroux, a top-4 D and a backup goalie.

Beginning to think PD prior failures might have been Eugene's interference? Two solid or better trades in a row.

Is this real life?
Ive heard this argument and always brushed it off

now I think they were right

Dorion is crushing this off season

I think this one was due to Dubas' tough spot but the Debrincat trade and us going hard after Giroux probably wouldn't happen under the Euge.

Still paranoid about Murray bouncing back with Toronto, but otherwise that's a pretty good deal for us.

He did play well at the end of the season. Murray has it in him to be a really good netminder (hell, he has two Cups).

It's all about health. But he is so frail....not sure how the Leafs are going to protect him from injury.

I wonder if we trade Brown for Edmonton first. If Arizona could consider this first in a deal for Chychrun

Hopefully we prioritize a top 4 RD. Then we can think about Giroux. Our kids in net need a good defense in front of them.

I just don't see it sure he had good numbers in that run. He makes a good first save but he refuses to battle for loose pucks, spits out rebounds and can't make a glove save. If Murray bounces back and becomes the leafs savior next season I will get a f***ing Leaf tattoo

Dorion turned the combined 11m caphit of White and Murray into 2.45m obviously because Murray back loaded contract it will eat a little bit more of our internal budget but still amazing. Obviously dorion put himself into these situations but I am happy to see him grow a little here and find ways out of these contracts similar to how he got out of Daddanov

They have a back up goalie. Gustavsson is good just needs reps and not to be sent up and down like a yo yo and play in front of a terrible D core. Murray was a big reason why he had a tough year I think. No continuity. He moves very very well.

I have a theory...

You know how you put the weights on a bat for practice then take them off and everything feels easier when you're up to bat?

Well, Dorion took off his bat weights with new ownership and now everything feels easy to him

So if we get Giroux, what is the next wild thing to happen? We sign Malkin or Bergeron to a 1 year deal?
