Vast majority are great dudes.

The minority of ignorant jackasses will get the media attention, like we see in every sport.

Look at Stammers quote from this week on the subject, sums it up perfectly.
For sure. The extreme voices are the loudest and the most extreme views get the attention. I follow too many of these athletes closely to actually believe what I posted. I just like to poke fun at my fellow white men. A bad apple or two may influence the others and bring them in to their shit, but its rarely a whole group of assholes no matter the demographic.

You don't even know my views on anything. I respect people's right to believe in what they believe regardless if I think it's stupid or disagree.

I dont try to get people fired because they follow someone I disagree with on social media.
It depends on the views. If it's a view that leans conservative, but overall they're a genuinely good person, I have no issue. If they're a hyper reactionary fascist, then no f*** them.

I don't think they do... if they are going to compete in 2-3 years you want that ELC contract to help you out. Unless some discount contract is available I think they most likely keep it.

That’s fair. Then I’d assume they’d get a very poor man’s version of DBC to fill the hole in the middle 6, or go “big” in FA despite it being pretty scarce.

Hypothetically, say DBC is traded for futures and a cheap player, and then they sign Barbashev. How many other teams have the cap + playoff expectations + top 6 play time?

If the Sens get a pick in the mid 1st as part of the deal for DBC, you have to think they’d trade it?
Making the pick would be wise since the odds of getting anyone better for immediate help via trade seem unlikely.

That means you can be sure Dorion will not do that and flip it for another veteran who won't be good enough and won't want to stay.

Since Cat is a winger, I'm really not all that worried about the hole left there. It doesn't hurt the team that much to have a lower tier winger on the second line. I'd rather have more money invested on the blueline than pouring a ton of cash on LW anyways.

Hellebyck for Chabot? We trade an offensive dman in Chabot for a great goalie in Hellebyck.
Then go out and get Mayfield and or Dumba in the free agent market. Hellebyck can play 60 games.
Sanderson Mayfield
Chychrun Zub
Kleven JBD Hamonic

Hellebyck/ Forsberg

Ottawa media is in the gutter. From Garrioch, Mendes, Simpson, Methot, Ryan, Nicholes etc. They are all bottom tier. Sometimes I wonder if these bozos are in middle school.

wtf is up with all the Zadina offers from Wings fans on the main trade proposals board. Those offers are horrible, borderline delusional if they think he has any value at all in any trade, especially on our team, the guy will never even crack the roster here lol
It comes from Seravalli reporting that the only offers the Senators are getting for DeBrincat include players like Zadina. He doesn't think the Senators will be able to get any immediate help/quality roster players in a deal.

Zadina is a completely useless player, no doubt, and half the teams in the league would have bought him out this summer. But that doesn't mean we won't end up having to take him.

There is a pretty well established track record of the Senators getting themselves into a zero-leverage position when trading their top players, and then taking a garbage pile in return.

Heatley -> Michalek, Cheechoo, 2nd round pick.
The Senators bought Cheechoo out after a year. The pick was used to rent Andy Sutton.
Spezza -> Alex Chiasson, Nick Paul, Alex Guptill, 2nd round pick.
Chiasson swapped for Sieloff. Guptill couldn't hang in the AHL. Pick used to move up and draft sex pest Gabriel Gagne.
Stone -> Oscar Lindberg, Erik Brannstrom, 2nd round pick.
Lindberg immediately bounced as a UFA. Brannstrom hasn't lived up to expectations. Pick used on Egor Sokolov.
Hoffman -> Mikkel Boedker, Julius Bergman, 6th round pick.
Boedker was useless. Bergman was an AHL scrub and was dumped in the Duchene deal. Pick used on Philippe Daoust.

The DeBrincat situation looks like it's heading down that sort of path. Just seems like all the insiders believe he's going to Detroit and they won't have to pay much to get him...

So don't be surprised if this ends up DeBrincat for Filip Zadina, Cross Hanas and a 2nd round pick.

Then the Sens should keep him for the year instead of that junk.

Well done.

Can’t forget the Zibanejad fiasco, where management actually had leverage and still managed to turn a house into a paper clip.

With the exception of Yashin and Karlsson, this organization has done a largely horrible job of managing top assets when a change was needed. I’d put Hossa in that category too, but that trade walked Chara out the door.

A culture change I’d like to see from the top is a more proactive approach to managing key talents. If top players aren’t inclined to lock in long term, trade them with term left and secure key assets in return. No more scenarios where Dorion walks the player to free agency and plays victim when the return is underwhelming.

If thats all the type of offers we're getting, then we better hold on to him and try our luck again in a few months when the market changes, he would have better value playing for us as a top 6 winger and then flipping him at the deadline if thats the case. But it's definitely another indictment on Dorion and why he needs to be replaced sooner rather than later.

For those of who you call Jordan Peterson an idiot than you best not be following Bruce Garrioch because he follows Methot who follows Peterson.

Who cares who anyone follows on social media. Peterson is definitely the dumbest of the three though. Dude is like a walking embodiment of dunning kruger effect. He's like that kid in school who won't shut up and everyone is just rolling their eyes at him.
