Rumor: Trade Rumour Thread II: TraDe for Every111!!

Buyers and sellers should become clearer in the next few weeks. Sather will be buying. Florida would sure be interesting if they became a seller. Phoenix too.

Good call, theres about a dozen names I'd like, but whats the cost? More draft picks?

Whitney isn't the same player he was in Pittsburgh. The multiple foot injuries have taken their toll on him. Jagr went around Whitney last week like he was the 1993 Jagr.

I saw that, he is awful. Tom Poti awful. Who would be jackass enough to trade for that!? :propeller

Yeah, Whitney's play has taken a nose-dive. He might be alright as a PP specialist, but if you're relying on him to play big minutes, he's not the way to go. Murray is on my shortlist for a deadline rental, as is Mark Streit and possibly Vishnovsky depending on how that situation plays out. Not crazy about Erskine. Guy isn't terribly quick and has a short temper that gets him into trouble. Murray can play the same game but is a bit more mobile and is better at picking his spots.
I'm into Streit and Visnovsky. Too bad they're on the Islanders. But they did trade us Niemi right????!!!

Let's see if we could steal Peckham from Edmonton.

He'd fit right into the system and would be loved around here.

id love Peckham on the Rangers blueline, tough and always clears the crease.. very underrated. Oilers should keep him.

I was thinking about this the other day. Isn't Streit a UFA at the end of the year? I'd absolutely be interested in him. We could use a shot on the PP that gets through to the net.

He is. I would clear out the piggy bank for him. No draft picks this June.

Whitney was never as good as billed, and I think he stood out as the worst defenseman to play for the US at the 2010 olympics.

He has fallen right off the chart. I'd be much more interested in somehow trying to get Visnovski to come here.

Streit or Murray would be ideal. I wonder if the Rangers would look to buy low on someone. Robidas? McBain?

Bouillon is another player I would have interest in as that #6 guy. Shouldn't cost a ton. Skates well, lots of playoff experience.

McBain would be my choice out of the last 4 mentioned (Murray, Streit, Visnovsky) because I'd be acquiring him for not just this season but the following ones.

He would be mine as well but I doubt the Rangers look to add a young player who has barely played at all this season.

Just a quick FYI
the main board has a thread that Paul Postma may be moved, not cheap, but I get the feeling not overpriced for the right return.

Might be looking for a more defensive D/RW

I mentioned his name a bit back but consensus was wpg not likely to move.
No certainty this time around but might be a good fit.

Anyone got any proposals around Postma to NYR...

Whitney is on the last year of his deal, which is a plus, but I don't think the NYR have the space to acquire him without moving some salary.

Add that to the fact that he just isn't that good...

Can we let this group of players play for two weeks before trying to re-assemble a roster that after some pretty big turnover and no real training camp is finally show signs of continuity?

You keep asking that, and we keep telling you no.

But I'm looking towards the deadline, and I think most people here likely are too. Even if we are discussing it now.

I'm quite sure Streit signed an extension just recently with Islanders. Don't know terms/years though...

Edit: 775.000/year, three year deal.

Pretty sure thats the other guy that sounds like Straight.

Claimed off waivers, Islanders sign him to a 3 year deal a couple of weeks later. Nice gig if you can get it.
