the asking price is likely one based on the way hes played the last few seasons and not based on this season where hes been terrible by all accounts, if we get clowe in confident sather wont overpay by any means.

If Iginla does go to Boston as it seems, the price for Clowe seems like it would drop, since the two biggest suitors willing to spend for a Winger in the East would have both dropped out on Clowe, and I doubt they'd want to send him anywhere out West with how tight the playoff race is out there and the fact that SJ is looking like it will have more than a decent shot to make the playoffs. They could always keep him and hope he turns it on for them down the stretch too.

Not sure if there's any other team besides us in the East who would be looking to add a winger like Clowe, maybe NJ/Ott at best.

If he's cheap enough, I'd make the move, but there's no chance in hell I'd give up a Morrow like return for him.

Well that's what I see along the lines with the Rangers giving up for him. AKA desperation move.

This team is not a Ryane Clowe with 0g in 25 GP away from being cup contenders.

If we used the offense like they are meant to be used (to their talents), we would be scoring goals. With Hank in net, if we can even get him 3 goals, thats a win 95% of the time.

Darren Dreger last week on NHL Live said the asking price for Clowe was a 1st, 2nd and top prospect.

Sather will give up 2014 first, 2013 second and Fasth for Clowe. Book it. SJ needs a speedy winger.

I wouldn't mind Clowe for Boyle and mid round pick.. He would be perfect for our 3rd/4th line..

Carl Hagelin - Derek Stepan - Rick Nash
Ryan Callahan - Brad Richards - Marian Gaborik
Chris Kreider - JT Miller - Mats Zuccarello
Ryane Clowe - Kris Newbury - Darroll Powe/Aarron Asham

Clowe is not a 4th liner.

Fast hasnt even played in north america yet... and Rangers wont give up that much for a rental. :help:

No he won't. When has Sather given that for a rental?

seriously if anything the top prospect would be Thomas bc they obviously think Fast is ready if theyre prying him from swed...

Thomas, Pyatt, 3rd thats my guess..

would be fine with it.. but much rather bourque Jean etc .. considering we Have Nash, Gaborik, Callahan, Fast in the org we could afford the loss..

still think Pyatt+ spares for Torres would be same affect if not better option..

but either will do.. Clowe is still good, SJ is a mess always up and down up and down .. change would be nice for him maybe..

I really hope not. This team is not a cup contender. That makes no sense on any level.

maybe like the Nash situation

Clowe and Burish to NYR for Boyle Pyatt and Bourque.. get it done..

Could very well be the case. Same for D. Boyle with his limited NTC. I don't see the Rangers as a viable cup contender without adding a PMD on the right side to push the tempo, Clowe would be a more mature Dubi, and add to the team so I wouldn't be opposed to a bigger swap involving more pieces if things fell into place.

I would keep B. Boyle, and ship out Pyatt and Bickel (2.2 cap), and add pick and prospect (say Yogan and 2nd) for Clowe and Matt Tenneyson. Or explore acquiring D. Boyle in a bigger deal.

I don't think they move Thomas either. Bourque?

Pound sand. Sounds like Iginla is going for less than that.

Honestly, as always it comes down to what we give up and what we get back. At anything close to the rumored price? I want no piece of him. Boyle and McColgan? Sure.

rather have a quicker 3rd or 4th liner with better offense.... id love Cogliano from the Ducks, that type of player... Rangers need more offense from the bottom lines.. no more stone hands.. :help: rather ship out Bourque than Yogan. Yogan has some potential. he can be a younger version of Clowe/Burish type. Rangers dont have alot of forward prospects with size. Yogan is one of the few..
