Am I the only one here who doesn't understand all the fascination over Clowe?
No. I don't want him at all. We don't need grit players that can't skate and/or score. Too many one dimensional guys as it is.

The Sharks have and have had a Clowe-type of player on the roster. Have they achieved more than the Rangers?
I really doubt the prospect going back the other way for a one armed impending UFA is any of; Miller/Kreider/Fasth/Lindberg/Nieves/McLIrath/Skjei/St. Croix/Nicholls (because he was just signed).
This is not Neil Smith cirac 1996 or 1997.
That leaves; Thomas/MZA/Noreau/Ceresnak/Borque/McColgan/Spelling/Anderson/Jean/Hrivik.
Noreau I doubt they'd move, same goes for Anderson.
My best guess just based on logic is either Thomas/MZA/McColgan would go back the other way along with Brian Boyle and 4th or 5th rounder for Clowe.
If you did not read it or you missed it brooksie wrote an article back in January about 3 players playing with other teams (2 of them are centers) that are on the Rangers reserve list. Fast and Lindeberg, Fast's team is done, but needs permission to leave because he is supposed to play in the world cup or championship (whichever) and then Lindeberg's team is still playing (according to a recent brooksie article). Both of those players have contracts according to Capgeek.com and then the third player who's an RFA, but is on the Rangers reserve list is Zukes.

Clowe is Prust with better hands and a better shot. He's a great hitter and fighter, which for as "gritty" and the bottom 6 apparently is the roster sorely lacks.
I would add that to the roster for the playoffs* every day of the week.
*pending
Thomas and/or MZA would be a bad move in my opinion. This team needs scorers, which those two are. Clowe is an impending UFA having a terrible season on a struggling team. Not worth a roster player and a prospect that addresses a team need.

Has Zuke been playing Center? Either way I think it's just as suspect to expect any of those players to be key contributors at center ice for a team trying to make a run. Zuke for defense & physicality and Fast/Lindberg because they have never played on an NHL sheet, let alone in an NHL game.
If your options down the stretch for 3rd/4th line C are Miller, Newb, and Lindberg that's extremely suspect IMO. Not saying they couldn't get it done but I sure am not confident in it.
I'd hate to give up either but if they want him THAT bad and San Jose gets a bidding war between the Rangers and Bruins then that's probably the absolute highest bid the Rangers would go.
Would love to get him for Boyle and a 3rd but not gonna happen in this market. I'd settle for Boyle a 3rd and Ceresnak or McColgan.
Fasth is a winger.
Katie Strang (Twitter) @KatieStrangESPN#NYR One quick note on Fast story from yesterday. He no longer goes by Fasth; it is now spelled Fast
you are correct, I was mistaken. for whatever reason in my head I thought he was a center. so my original post edit 1 of them is a center (Lindeberg).
Thanks for catching that. I am human.

His name as always been Fast, but his family has always gone by Fasth.
He played as Fasth just a couple of days ago. Will he change when he goes to NA?
Regular scouts VAN-LA: STL BOS ANA NSH East extra: BUF PHI WPG CAR PIT NYI West extra: PHX DAL (2) COL ...and NY Rangers have 2 here
Fasth looks cooler.
Ola, is it pronounced as Jesper or Yesper and Fast or Fost?
I've been calling him Yesper Fost after Sam Rosen did when he played at the WJCs a few years ago.
Spelled Fast it might sell more jerseys and bring up more convos with non fans.
LOL..when they first picked hm in 2010 my g/fs first question was "Is he actually fast?"
Again on LA.
