Brassard hasn't been playing terrible, his role has changed. He's still a good player, agree he needs some better linemates. He made a boneheaded play tonight but aside from that hasn't been bad. Certainly not our main issue.

FWIW, and it's not worth much, but Glen Healy said on HNIC that the Rangers aren't going to trade Del Zotto because they'd have to replace 20 minutes a night and 35 points for $2.25M per year.

Don't be so sure Glen. especially if Slats can get a defenseman back.

Could anyone else see MDZ and JT to Winnpeg for Byfuglien and a (2nd or 3rd) draft pick?

Glen Healy is an idiot. I don't think he has any sources.

Falk came in and played real well tonight. The team didn't miss a beat without DZ. If you can get a potential goal scoring forward in return for Del Zotto, I think you have to do it.

I agree that he's an idiot, but I figured it was worth relaying anyway.

Falk was okay tonight. Solid play in the 2nd and 3rd period balanced out what I thought was a terrible first period for him. He's fine as a #7 guy, but I don't think the team wants to rely on him for the #6 role all year. I'm not opposed to trading Del Zotto, but I think they could very well deal him for a RHD of the same ilk, or at least a lefty who can play the right side. In fact, I think a swap for a righty D is more likely than adding a scoring forward.

That's mostly why I'm in favor of getting a player like Zibanejad, he's an all around well playing forward who can leave the game with a few hits and can score a goal. Pouliot Brassard Zibanejad sounds great.

Lol Pouliot on that line =:laugh::laugh:

Without Brassard our center depth is atrocious.

Not in the slightest. Boyle is already playing on the 3rd line. Easily could shift him over to C. Moore as the 4c is doing great.

Can move Miller back to C eventually, worst case scenario. We also have Lindberg, who the organization is very high on to be our eventual 3c.

We lack a 2c though, when Richards is bought out. Brassard may or may not be the answer. He needs to be more consistent.

Not a main issue right now but he could become a source of weakness next year when his role changes again to 2c.

Don't be so sure Glen. esp[ecially if they can get a defenseman back.

I could see it, but I don't know how happy I'd be with it. Very tough to absorb that contract and manage to retain Girardi next year.

Also worth noting that Winnipeg's defense is really banged up. Trouba and Bogosian are both out.

As soon as Nash is back I want to see him on the line with Brassard.

This would make more sense if Del Zotto was actually playing 20 minutes a night. At this moment, with a fully healthy blueline, his ice time has dropped by 5 minutes per game compared to last year... more than 20%. And if he's not playing 20 minutes a night, I have a hard time seeing him get to 35 points.

Yak looks like a project but I still want the kid. I'm caught up in the hype!

He's not getting that much TOI so maybe EDM might consider it. They can definitely use D, and as not-great MDZ is, he is also not bad and would make a solid piece on their team.

I think the Rangers need to trade for a speedy winger a-la Hagelin. Speed on the wings is just killing the opposition. another one would be great.

More like a Power Forward. We have alot of Hagelin-esque players. We need another Kreider-esque player. Someone who can defend our team and score a goal or two when needed. I'd be happy if Yakupov came. Would rather have Zibanejad or Palmieri... and no Brassard movement he could seriously be one of our best players if given more ice time.

An MDZ+ package sounds so good from our perspective (we need a scorer) and it would be tons of fun to see it play out, but I imagine his asking price has to be higher than that.

Not buying it.

Streidrello line cannot change either

id be really interested in Etem...we could use a little snarl and the speed. plays an AV type game for sure...a little raw though.

How about Emerson Etem from the Ducks? Speed and Physicallity.

Not available. They view him as a Kreider like prospect.

Drew Shore, Quentin Howden, Brett Connolly, Charlie Coyle, Kyle Palmieri, Nick Bjugstad.

Find a player like them who can play a big physical game and keep up with the play and add to either side accordingly.
