I actually really liked this idea, but all the eggs seem to be in the Yakupov basket at the moment, and I really think they need to prioritize getting a finisher, but we are definitely on the same page with that idea. If they could to MDZ + for Yakupov and could get MoJo for Moore that really remakes the offense.

Wait WHAT? You wanna move MDZ And Moore? That destroys our defense. Most people agree with trading DZ because we have Moore who's quickly taking his place. I'd rather trade Girardi for yak and DZ for a young RD to balance things out or just DZ+ for yak

I think trading away Del Zotto guarantees Girardi resigning and Stralman will probably be back as long as his doesn't ask for silly money. Call up Connor Allen and since Falk and Johnson are stopgaps use one of them at RD and if they bomb trade for someone on the cheap, maybe a Jon Blum type?

EDIT: And we have to assume that McIlrath is close.

Edmonton's front office has a lot of people on the Del Zotto fan club, including Scott Howson who wanted him in the Nash deal. Del Zotto has more value to Edmonton than he might have elsewhere.

Me personally, I would have no problem with a MDZ for Johansson based deal either.
