I respectfully disagree.

I know you do. Part of it is because I don't think you realize how physically gifted Kovalchuk is and how that aided his goal scoring #'s.

The other part of it is that you condone any sort of deal no matter what the rumor is. You've twisted yourself into knots making a false argument that this situation would be like the Rangers acquiring Kovalchuk at 20 years old. Its not.

There is a huge size difference between the (2) players obviously. Kovalchuk is a bull. I understand your point, but there are other ways to score in this league and while Kovalchuk is fast, Yakupov has more speed.

I don't condone any sort of deal. I just think it would be a good move if they can add him while not blowing the whole thing up.

The point I was making was that it makes sense to try to add a player who can score @ 20 rather than 27. I thought that was relatively obvious. I was using Kovalchuk and Nash as random examples.

Didn't you say that the NHL game was too hard for Kovalchuk? IMO that negates the majority of your arguments.

And my entire point is a player that has the balls to question his coach and organization at the age of 20 usually isn't worth the trouble.

I thought they brought him onboard as a consultant?

If not, my bad.

The point is the same tho... If he has something to say about any team and any player I'm sure they'd listen.

But the point that he would have anything to say about a Duck's goaltender makes no sense. He hasn't spent the last few years in the ducks organization watching ducks players and prospects like he has the Rangers. They aren't asking him advice on the duck's players. They didn't fly all the way to NY to ask Mess about Fredrick Andersson.

Mattheson now. You guys are right, they were there getting Mess' expert opinion on Fredrick Andersson.

It makes more sense that Messier was scouting Del Zotto - a player he's seen how many times in recent history?

Is he the Oilers ambassador to the Rangers?

Being a defensive liability and having poor work ethic are two very different concerns. The former, at least at his age, doesn't concern me at all. The latter, regardless of age, is always a serious concern.

If he has the work ethic Nail might yet end up being a good two way player. When Marian Hossa was drafted scouts weren't sure he had ever set foot in the defensive zone.

I'd love a yak deal IMO he could potentially be a 40 goal scorer in a year or 2. We all believe kreider will be a 30 goal go so to add yak could be EXACTY what we need

Wouldn't move Kreider in a deal for Yak. Ass backwards move. Rangers need more players like Kreider, not less.

I think a deal that could make sense is a move around Staal and Yakupov. Theoretically.
