Frederic had 18 and 17 goals the last 2 seasons prior to this one when Olivier had 5 and 5.
I know Olivier has some intangibles but Frederic will surely have a higher AAV than that even on a longer term deal but I don't hate the idea, the Oilers are going to screwed in 3-4 years anyway so I'd be more than willing to go longer term to lower the AAV in the short term in the real win now window, which I think is pretty shut anyway but I digress.

Longer term contracts signed before this year are going to hold more value now than the ones that are currently being signed with the cap jumping up. Thank god they got Drai locked up when they did.
