Sometimes miracles
So both things are true, but it starts with the goalies NOT MAKING SAVES. It doesn't matter how tight you play if your concern is literally every shot on goal. It's not that, I promise you it's not that. The Oilers went from a team that gives up the least number of shots in the league, to giving up over 30 7 games in a row, the first not giving up 30 being last night when they were blown out of the building. The goaltending can be bad, and the team can be playing well below their standards. Both things can be true.
They have to play better, but it's Goaltending first, if you don't address it, it's like changing the batteries in your smoke alarms while there's a fire in the kitchen. That battery change will help, but you know, there are larger problems.Even if I agree with you that the goaltending is the number one, biggest most important problem the team has, and everyone is just completely exhausted from playing in front of them, you still can't have your top line disappear like McDavid's has for as long as it has. That just can't happen, regardless of how the rest of the team is playing. There's more to it than just goaltending.
