I have a nucks buddy who even said the oilers need a goalie. He said the oilers not getting a goalie would be such a major mistake and compared it to the west coast era Canucks that had a plug in Dan Cloutier in net being a major anchor in the way of success. Reminds me exactly of our goalies here especially Moustache

Now any team in anything resembling a similar situation will think of Skinner and how he squandered a season where Draisaitl was on pace to shatter the all-time single postseason goals record, followed by a season where McDavid became the first player in 31 years to register over 40 points in a postseason, and score more than anyone not named Gretzky or Lemieux while setting the postseason assists record, and who was so dominant that he became the first skater in almost 50 years to win the Smythe on a losing team.

Every idiot in management who didn't speak up and argue in favor of getting a goalie when we had that two-year Cup window should hang their head in perpetual shame. You f***ed this team and you f***ed Leon Draisaitl and Connor McDavid, two of the most dominant playoff performers EVER...and the two players who have never won a Cup that deserve it most. The Cup window has slammed SHUT. Maybe you can open it again by getting a goalie...maybe.

Not according to Stauffer, the team's mouthpiece. Expect to go in with this lineup and maybe another old, slow, coke machine installed on the backend. When the current sadsacks can't even muster the effort to show up most games. Imagine thinking 'this is the year!' and 'we're going all in' after watching them over the last stretch of 8 games. With the way they are playing... they might barely just gasp into the post-season at best.

Maybe just maybe the Oilers change their plan and shift their focus? Nobody says plans can't change and with 3 days left until deadline they can still switch gears and move to a goalie.

They may not want to (which is stupid) but don't they almost HAVE to? The players are asking, the coaches, the fans, etc. I don't know if they make it out alive without a goalie.....

Can't we just get Mrazek who is free. Maybe he gets rejuvenated not being on the Hawks. Maybe he has mailed it in. I know he's not great this year, but he's free and at least they try to address the issue.

Like at this point management needs to make a move even to save their reputation. Maybe it throws a wrench in the deadline plan, but Mrazek is free and how do you not.

I mentioned firing an assistant coach, it's something just to shake the team up.

Maybe you trade for a character guy. An actuall good player? Maybe you add a goalie. Just show the team something.


If we get Fredric and Dumoulin while other teams add elite players that doesn't send the best "message" to the group.

That would be an interesting risk to take, I don't mind it either, because I wonder how much is a decline in his play v. quitting on the team, but who knows.

Boston gets a cheaper, shorter termed back up and a maybe on the blueline. Oilers get a guy who might look better in a different spot.
