Rumor: Trade Rumors & Proposals Thread | No More Pacifism For the Oilers?

You can officially mark me down as jumping off the Klingberg train. I was all for the trial and hoped for some magic. But he’s depth at best. He can still move the puck but that’s about all. At least it sounds like they want to add to the blue line still.
I agree. He's fine depth as a 7/8 with Stetcher. Team either needs a top 4 RHD or a LHD that can anchor the bottom pairing with Kulak moving up. Kulak always plays well in the playoffs so I'd be fine with him in the top 4.

Combine that with a goalie upgrade and the team should break out of their funk. Kane better not f*** up their ability to do this. Actual insanity if he does.

Dumb f***. Go ahead and add Dumoulin. Not gonna get rid of the poison when you refuse to cut off the head of the snake in our shit goalies.

Pretty much. If he's not coming with Gibson, then really I mean you're spending picks/prospects for what exactly? This tandem is showing clear as day they can't even hold up against an Anaheim Ducks team, what are the better teams going to do?

They’re too busy snacking on popcorn. Dumb and f***ing dumber. I’d rather have Kevin Lowe back in charge as GM. At least he acquired Roli when Markkanen and Conklin played as shit as our current tandem

Him and JJ must think Skinner is another Crawford and they just need some Moar size n gritz to get the best out of him and Pickled (intended spelling)

Crawford is light years better than fat f*** lateral movement ever will be.
I bet moustache is listening to a podcast or reading a book on feeling good about himself right now again.

Can he bring Gibson with him?
Gibson is the fire extinguisher to kill the fire of our shit current goalie tandem, but the Oilers brass think throwing small buckets of water in Dumoulin or Frederic will solve it. Unbelievable.

Looking back at the 2021 tweets from this that we still f***ing see in the present involving the oilers on why they can’t make trades because of excuses like dollar in dollar out 4 f***ing years later in year 2025. Amazing job, oilers management. Some things never change for this organization no matter who they have in charge.
Dustin Schwartz being employed still and can’t make good trades cause dollar in dollar out so you can never go all in as an excuse. Good job hiring these f***ing idiots, Daryl Katz.

I do agree with getting Dumoulin, but if you don't get a goalie his confidence and play will die with the rest of the team's...

I'm saying it now. We don't get a goalie, we don't make the playoffs.
Another game where knob calls the team fragile.
You wanna know why the team is fragile? Just listen to that Perry or Nuge’s interview post game.
Basically called out the goaltending twice indirectly saying the goals just deflated their energy. The guys in the room know how bad it is. It’s like they’re asking out of desperation to the management to acquire a goalie.
They’re playing scared because they know the second they make a mistake (and even sometimes when they don’t) there’s a high likelihood the puck’s going to end up in the back of their net. They have no confidence in the sieves as the last line of defense of the net, and it’s effecting their play everywhere else. It’s gotten to a point where it’s tiresome to watch but imagine having to play as well. The sieves have played this way on a regular basis. No f***ing wonder guys like McDavid have played with such lack of intensity and fatigue. Our goalies just suck any f***ing energy or momentum from the team and fans watching.

They’re also fragile because the coach is a panicky coward hiding behind a facade of calm. The players know

I said it to my fiancé after the first period that I wouldn’t be surprised if McDrai was loaded up for puck drop in the 2nd period and whataya f***ing know, McDrai load up with Hyman. Same shit with every coach. I remember when Knob said he didn’t like blending lines last year since it f***s with players chemistry. That went out the window quicker than a speeding bullet train.

Honestly, with how bad the team is, I don't see how a coaching change isn't desperately needed, along with a new goalie obviously and above all f***ing other needs and decisions, and a Top-4 D man. Question is: can we afford those two things after pissing so much away on an injured rental for a playoffs we may not even make? I don't know...

I think Knob is getting the same leeway from fans that Stu got, in that they both come off as "nice guys" so people aren't as quick to run them down.

Well, guess what, Knob?

They won’t fire Knob. But if they did, watch Bowman hire his shit buddy in Quenneville.

Either this management gets a goalie by now to Friday, or I’m f***ing out for this season. Watching our sieves skewer in the regular season is tiresome enough. They’ll do the exact same shit in R1/R2 of the playoffs. Waste of time watching.

We can always take comfort in the fact that our teams in 2023 and 2024 were probably good enough to win a Cup...our goalie wasn't.

It's actually amazing how many people ignored all the negatives Skinner's playoff performances brought and focused solely on Dallas and the futile comeback from 0-3...ignoring how much of that inescapable rut was on him (.826 in Game 3...Oilers lose by ONE goal).

Also, despite the hogwash about a Sports Psychologist "fixing" Skinner, he was terrible in Game 7 vs Vancouver (.882...and almost lost us the game on his own) and had a save percentage in the .800s in the first three games against Florida. Say what you want about the Oilers only scoring one goal in the first two games, but there's this thing called overtime and Skinner didn't even give the team a CHANCE to make it to OT. And I learned just today that he has the worst GSAx of any playoff goalie in the cap era...

Yet he's still here and still the "starter." This level of administrative incompetence is unprecedented. No team was ever gifted with two centers of this caliber and accomplished so little, even when they finally had the benefit of a competitive team...all because of one glaring problem that was so obvious to so many people.

This would be like Pittsburgh trying to win the Cup in 2015 with Dan Cloutier or Ray Emery...failing miserably the first time almost entirely due to the goalie, and then trying AGAIN with the same shitty goalie the following year. That will be his legacy: a middling goalie that was the undoing of a great team led by generational playoff performers. Forget Dan Cloutier, Skinner is in his own hemisphere for epic disappointments.

No team was ever gifted with two centers of this caliber, squandered much of their prime seasons, and when a competitive team was finally built around them accomplished so little because of one glaring problem that was so obvious to so many people.

I have a nucks buddy who even said the oilers need a goalie. He said the oilers not getting a goalie would be such a major mistake and compared it to the past west coast era express Canucks that had a plug in Dan Cloutier in net being a major anchor in the way of success. Reminds me exactly of our goalies here especially Moustache
