No to Byram, he tends to drag those around him down. Peterka would be amazing.

Luukkonen is a pipe dream, but dumping kapanen++ for Greenway at 50% should be doable.

The defenseman I want the Oilers to get is Oleksiak.

Skinner is a complete wild card. Lost us the Vegas series, did everything possible to lose us the Vancouver series, including Game 7, and played awful in the first three games of the Finals...but hey, after his disastrous .826 performance (where the team lost by a goal) in Game 3 where the team fell into an 0-3 rut and had like a 3% chance of winning the cup, he played well!!! But that Dallas series was something...so one great playoff series performance out of 6?

And that Game 7 cup-killing wrister was a super-sized muffin.

I wouldn't call a career .894 playoff save percentage (after the 80s) and imploding in three out of six playoff series a success, but to each their own.

They are out there. The Oilers just always want to go cheap on this position. They could have made the same deal Colorado did for Blackwood too.

As long as he doesn’t become the worst goalie in the playoffs in goals saved above expected in the cap era- he’ll be better

Pretty sure I responded to you somewhere else where I gave you a list of options. A goalie upgrade on one of the worst starters in the league on one of the best teams (at least before February) is entirely possible. Even many backups will be improvements on Skinner. He's just that bad at this point and only getting worse.

Holy shit! I didn't know THAT about him! As if we needed further proof that the Oilers have Cups in 2023 and last year with just about any other NHL goalie in net (hell, Campbell and Pickard both outplayed him in their limited appearances, so maybe the solutions were already there...)
