We need a good skating, and passing two way D man, and fast before the season is over. Our D sucks and its not going to fix itself.

So are you trading Methot and a 2nd because thats what it would cost. What you ask for is a 4 million dollar player. Good luck! It may be what we need but there is 1% chance of this happening unless you are giving up a top player. Nobody wants 5/6 d or bottom 6 forwards in exchange for top 3 d men especially when the players aren't performing. Players you'd have to give up..Karlsson, Methot, Spezza, Zibby, Ryan, etc

Just don't see Phoenix doing that regardless of the money. Is Stone not one of the better young defensemen around? Why trade him as a favor to one of your players.

There's no way a trade happens around Michalek and Phoenix without taking back Derek Morris. I could see Vrbata + Morris too if we add a prospect/pick.

The Coyotes are tight against the cap, so any deal we would make with them would have to be pretty much dollar for dollar. Either that or we retain a big chunk of Michalek's salary. Again, about 2/3 of the league is tight against the reduced $64 million cap, which is why you won't see much action on the trade market until later in the year when a larger chunk of the salaries have been paid out...

If only you could trade cash and help out broke teams like us who can get rewarded for carrying open cap space like in the NBA.
