Plus for Hartnell is he is locked down on a contract for the next few years.
Negative, he falls down a lot.

Plus for Moulson is he is more offensive minded than Hartnell.
Negative, he is a UFA and will be getting a big pay raise.

If we have have a piss poor season maybe Melnyk will be more inclined to spend to get us over that hump. I feel if there is something good out there that isn't spending just to spend he'd be willing to do it.

Hudler is under contract for 2 more years (after this one) at a very reasonable price based on his near PPG production.

I'm guessing the price is more than I'd want to give up. They'd want a #1 and a top prospect I'm guessing.

Puempel and Prince. Wouldn't get it done but that's what I'd offer.

Yeah. I offered up Wiercioch + Greening + 3rd for Hudler on the main board and they basically said as much, that it'd take a 1st + top prospect. I'd probably rather your deal but its always good to shed some salary, especially if its under-preforming

I would do that deal for Hartnell in a country minute. There is no way that even a GM as bad as Holmgren takes it though, especially with the cap going up considerably next season. 9MM is an underperforming upcoming UFA, so that type of move would basically amount to saving the Flyers the trouble of buying Hartnell out. And they definitely not going to buy him out this summer.

some flyers fans were saying they'll probably lose one of hartnell or simmonds, and although id prefer simmonds we would be losing some good pieces along the way. Milo and Hartnell have had the same production this year, and he would be placed on the top line with G and fellow Cezch Voracek basically on a tryout. Im sure a good guy like Milo would resign if a contract was offered. I think the addition of conacher could be the steal of the trade, he just hasnt seemed to work here but his style of play would fit well in philly i think, and he has potential to grow. So they basically replace Hartnell with a guy that will be slotted into the top line, and if signed to a new contract wont be making more than 3-4 mil, as well as a depth piece that can hopefully pan out. We get an experienced vet that can bring a lot of energy and will solidify our top 6. a win win scenario, I thinks thats why some flyers fans agreed to the deal. But, not sure if Murray or Homer would

This. No time to move Conacher he's been playing very well lately.

well I wouldnt say very well, but I see what you mean. The reason we can move conacher is because he and his play can be easily replaced by one of prince, puempel, hoffman, or stone. If we didnt have those Bingo prospects looking to get a shot at the bigs I would be hesitant to move him as well.

Really? Because Conacher is 2 years removed from an 80 pt season in the AHL, whereas none of those guys have ever topped 50 pts in the AHL. Hell, Conacher scored more points in the NHL last year than Hoffman has in 2/3 seasons.

This. Conacher is one of our assets that could be part of a package to get a top 4 dman

I'm with you on this.. I've found Conachers game has been improving. The guy has been thrown all over the place on different lines. I find her plays really well with Michalek.. hopefully they can keep those two together and see what kind of a chemistry they can build.

I'm a fan of Conacher's.. the guy is young and needs more time to improve.

Yes, Replace his current production and offensive/defensive contributions to this team. Your talking about potential, and its my believe that he just wont reach it here in Ottawa..which is why the deal could pan out for philly. Mark Stone is who id first look at - 12pt in 13 games..and to be fair conacher is 2 years older than him

the hoffman comparison kind of hurts your case I think, as he is on pace for a 92pt season in the AHL. doesnt always translate, a lot of it depends on team and opportunity..look at klinkhammer in phoenix. Just dont think conachers a good fit in ottawa since hes never shown he is so far, but i do believe hes a good player and would play well in philly.

That seems like quite a bit for an average small 2nd liner.

If we got Hartnell, I would get that.

Hartnell is so bad. Why do people want him? And he is on a ridiculous contract. We need DEFENSE with the little money we may or may not have.

lolllll. Propose RNH to your team on the main board and you get mobbed by a bunch of Oiler fans.

No use of proposing deals for EDM players. I find Oiler HF'ers are the worst at over valuating their own players. And especially their top 5 picks. Don't get me wrong, they are really good players that hold value but they ask for the moon for them. Only players like Karlsson, Crosby, Malkin, etc. are good enough returns.

Easily replaced by Prince (healthy scratch in the AHL), Puempel (yet to prove himself at the AHL level), Hoffman ( has not made the cut this year after two glorious opportunities), and Stone ( are these skates or snowshoes I have on). Give your head a shake. If you want to move him fine but to say EASILY replaced by those guys. Please :shakehead
