Is CHI taking a run at Vinny? I know they've been looking for a center and with those buyouts they have a lot of cap space(7mil). Why would they be looking at moving more salary when Bickell is really the only guy they have to re-sign?

Bolland for Lander and Ducks 2nd round pick?

That's more like the deal MacT was speaking of rather than trading the #7 to down to the bottom half of the round. I think the deal he's looking for involves one of the 2nd round picks + prospect/pick for some immediate help.

P.S. Bolland will be a UFA after next year.

Dreger and Cox are nothing alike.

I disagree, to each their own.

Numerous times over the years, Cox has chirped at the Oilers organization, the fans of the team, even the city itself...and the Eastern media and fans feast on it. It's not done out of any malice, it's done to pander to his readership and it gets results for him.

Dreger does the same thing with his constant Toronto-centric rumour mill. Different methods, same motivation.

Bolland's great, but IMO people are way too quick to give up on PRV for a quick fix. Kid's a player and should be considered part of the core. TBH I'd rather trade Gagner and I like Gagner a fair bit.

Dreger doesn't take shots at Edmonton or the organization.

Wrong name, fixed

Nonis and Dreger are cousins, so that probably has something to do with the reporting.

Dreger's been pumping his cous's tires since the Nucks fired him. Probably even before that but I just didn't notice. This is just more of that.

I love this lineup! The one change I would do though would be:
Nichushkin/RNH/Eberle , Hall/Gagner/Yakupov. It seems like Hall and Yakupov had some chemistry going at the end of the season. Also, Nichushkin adds some size to the first line

I wonder if they'd consider taking Gagner instead to reunite the Gagner+Kane connection.

Gagner + 37th for Bolland, Leddy, Teravainen?

Gagner reunited with Kane and can be signed to a reasonable contract. Gagner best and most established player.

37th is a nice pick in a deep draft to help offset the loss of Teravainen

Bolland - one year from UFA, but an excellent 3rd line center that can fill in the line 2 for the time being.

Leddy a small two-way puck moving defenseman that is behind a deep Chicago blueline.

Teravainen - nice prospect who might top out to be an average Gagner.

Maybe we add a Pitlick or Musil to balance the deal.

I thought hockey players are corporated, which means they pay corporate tax not proprietor tax like the average joe. Similar to that of a doctor.

Ah... yes, I'm sure you are right. I haven't looked up the corporate rates, but I thought Quebec was fairly competitive... then again I work in biotech where we prefer tax credits & grants to the distant dream of actual revenues.

Can trades happen at any time now?

(Just figured would see more trades since season is over now)

Dreger has family in the Leafs organization, he is remotely related to Nonis. Thats why his rumours are so Toronto centric, they're his biggest source.
