Perry is a pipe dream. Why are we even talking about this? We don't have the cap space without trading someone. Brown is getting a raise, Voynov is getting a raise, Quick's cap hit kicks in next year. No way.

We have our core locked up long term. We all wanted this. The downside to that is limited cap maneuverability going forward. That means no more big splashy free agent attempts. We have a core in place that will contend for the next five years AT THE LEAST. Be happy.

I'm not saying he's great, but they aren't likely to be in the market for another goaltender, let alone another one coming out of a similar situation to Lindback.

Yeah not sure if they would roll the dice again but who knows.

Didn't know he shut himself down. Must have missed that one someplace. Sorry guys.

I'd play him on the 3rd line, but I guess that's a mute point now.

You guys do realize that IF we did land Perry, we'd be saying "adios" to Ryan right? Perry or Ryan? One or the other is how I see it. Definitely not both.

How ****ing arrogant can a fanbase be to assume that their rivals' players are all chomping at the bit to sign with us?

Holy ****.

Odds are strongly against either of them signing here.

It's almost as certain as the Kings signing Kovalchuk. While speculating can be fun, saying so with certainty is only going to set some fans up for disappointment.

IF Perry gets to UFA, some eastern GM is going to give him 9m+ AAV, no thanks

I agree. They'll be falling all over themselves.

The Flyers and Rangers, would trade or buyout underachieving players to free up cap space.

The Leafs will also be in the mix.

Perry there is close to 0% wanting to sign here but Ryan is a different story.

Out of all the places to play during the lockout, he played with Kopitar; played for the Junior Kings, not that far away from Anaheim, etc. I would say there's atleast SOME chance Ryan finds himself in a Kings' uni if the Ducks can't re-sign him and he goes the UFA route (no, i'm not holding my breathe). Perry, i'd agree with. He's going to go to the highest bidder, *cough* Rangers *cough*.

I'd rather have Bobby Ryan anyway. He's got more offensive skill, is a better pure goal scorer, and still plays a physical brand of hockey. I like Perry's game but he's not as skilled as Ryan and too often gets sucked into taking stupid penalties.

That goal that Ryan had in the playoffs vs Nashville two years ago was absolutely filthy.

Lol. No, not arrogance on my part, but rather ignorance in yours.

Dude, chillax, it's just fantasy speculation.

They Would probably have to buyout B. Richards to make that work because they have to extend Lundqyist and Callahan effective 14-15.

Lundqvist and Callahan are signed for next year, so by the time the contract extensions kick in (14-15 as you said) Gaborik is off the books. Effectively, the Rangers actually look quite good for cap space going forward. Their only real sticking point is resigning McDonagh long-term and adding a D-man or two if Hamrlik/Eminger/Gilroy walk. For next season they have about $11 million to play around with and have 10 forwards, 5 D-men and 2 goalies already locked up. They really only need to add 4 forwards and two D-men, and only McDonagh will likely be expensive from that group. They could have $6 million to play with cap wise, and could free up more by dealing away Boyle for someone making half the money. I know $6 million is low for Perry, but they have options to free up more cap space that wouldn't involve buying out Richards.

I agree. Ryan is a perfect fit for the Kings. He'd be cheaper as well.

My favorite statistic for evaluating goal scorers is their even strength production, and Bobby is consistently near the top of the leauge in this stat. He's one of the best wingers in the game at producing 5 on 5.

Plus I think he grew up a Kings fan.
