So I was a little upset yesterday and started thinking on how to improve the team. We either have to be patient and let the team gel or try to change the dynamics of the team.
Since patience is not fun for us fans, here is my plan.

This season's deadline,

Trade Gabby to Ottawa for Zibby + Greening + 1st
Trade Boyle+Eminger+3rd for McBain
I think it's pretty obvious that Gabby will not last here.
He has been misused as a 2LW or 3RW. Having Boyle as your center does not augur well.
I would do the Ottawa deal even if it's a second instead of a first and we have to add a pick.
Get Yonkman from the Panthers for a 5th, waive or trade Bickel.

Hagelin - Stepan - Nash
Pyatt - Richards - Cally
Greening - Zibby - Miller
Haley/Asham - Halpern - Powe

McDonagh - Girardi
MDZ - McBain
Hamrlik - Yonkman
Gilroy

When Staal is healthy
McDonagh - Girardi
Staal - McBain
MDZ - Yonkman
Hamrlik/Gilroy

This offseason
Buy out richards
Trade Miller + Greening + Ottawa's 1st + 3rd for Ryan Johansen + Savard

We don't have high end centers behind Stepan.
Johansen has the skills and upside to be #1 or #2, he has been struggling a bit in Columbus because he has been rushed.
Miller is a good prospect that shows he has the skills, body and IQ to play in the NHL, he is 19 so his potential is immense.
Columbus may or may not want to do this deal, but the value is there.
Send Savard to Harford to develop further, he will be our future PP specialist.
Resign Yonkman
Edit: Resign Yonkman to 1 year deal. this is to prevent McIlrath from having to do the heavy lifting by himself in his rookie year.

Hagelin - Stepan - Nash
Kreider - Johansen - Cally
Pyatt- Zibby - Fasth
Haley - Halpern/Lindberg - Powe
Asham/Mash

McDonagh - Girardi
Staal - McBain
MDZ - McIlrath
Yonkman/Savard as PP specialist

In the system: MSC, Yogan, Thomas, Skjei, Hrivik, Nichols, Anderson, Noreau and Nieves

This roster is balanced, has skills and grit in all 3 lines and speed to burn.
The defense is balanced and stout.
This team can be a cup contender for the next 3 years, We can add role players for assets that are now available.

Very good all around game and plays a physical brand of hockey. Can play center or RW and is responsible in all three zones. If he can achieve his offensive potential, he's a possible first line player. More likely he's a top-tier 2nd line forward who can do a bit of everything. Has a nasty streak in his game too which I'd like to see him use a little more.

I'd be very happy with him as part of a Gaborik trade.

can also play LW

a weak spot for the Rangers

Ben Eager and Tyler Pitlick to NYR for Stu Bickel and Bourque and rights to Zuccarrello??

Unless a contender like LaK , Chi. , Van suffer a major career ending injury NO ONE WANTS GABORIK and his year left at 7.5 hit .
BB might get you a 3 or 4 th or lateral player who is also a ham handed stiff .
No one wants Richards .
Th only tradeable asset NYR have are D Men and they can't afford trading them

I'm gonna go ahead and disagree there on Gaborik.

Lol. Not sure if serious...:help:

For those of you who don't visit the trade boards, this is a summary of the offers from other fans for Gaborik/Boyle.
These are offers that have been agreed to by both fanbases, this is not my proposals.

Gaborik

Ottawa, Detroit Canucks and Nashville fans have all expressed interest in Gaborik. The Preds and wings have been persistent.

Preds: Nyqvist + Ellis + pick. I don't think a first is in the cards.
Wings: Jurco + 1st + prospect, the ongoing discussions are about the prospect.
Sens: Zibs + Greening + 1st
Nucks: Booth + Hansen + 1st.

Boyle

Boyle has also drawn interest from the Nucks, Canes, Habs and Hawks.
Hawks: Olsen + 4th, or Pirri straight up.
Edit: Only Bernie agreed to the Olsen deal , everybody else was pushing for McNeil or Pirri.
Canes: Boyle + Eminger + mid rd pick for McBain.
Habs: Moen + 4th/Weber.
Nucks: Raymond straight up ... or ... Hansen + pick .... or ... 2nd + Rodin/Sauve.

And believe it or not even Richards has drawn interest, but buy out is a better outcome for the Rangers. If he gets traded then retires, the Rangers are on the hook for substantial cap hit.

To the trade board regulars, let me know If I missed something.

Why would Sens trade Ziba for a guy who can walk in a year and a bit?

From their discussions, Gabby would be the perfect wing for Spezza and would offer a chance to Spezza and Alfi to win a cup before they retire.
It's a pretty good team when everybody is healthy and they add Gaborik on Spezza's wing.

And they become a good team with Gaborik but I dont think they become a Cup contender. Sens were healthy last season and yet they were only an #8 seed.

If I was a Sens fan there is no way I'd do that trade. Ziba can turn into a really good player. He'll also be cheap for a little while too.

Maybe we can do better than Greening then. I like Greening, it's a good idea but if Ottawa has expressed that they really want Gabs, do you think we can go for Turris? I think he'd be a better addition than Greening even though I think both of them would be good I think Turris is a great play maker which we deffinitely need but then again Greening is a better board player. I don't know tell me what you think!

I am not sure about that because their window is closing. Once Spezza and Alfie retire, it will be a while before they become serious contenders.
Think about it this way, would you trade Erixon, Dubi and Anisimov for a chance at a game breaker like Nash? The answer is yes, whether Erixon and Anisimov are good/cheap or not.
Gabby is seen as a game breaker, consistent 40 goal scorer that can be deadly in the right system. Ottawa's system would seem to fit him.
Gabby would have 1+ years to play there. If he is allowed to play his style with a center that can feed him the puck and thrives, with a PMD like KArlsson behind him, there is no reason why he would not resign.
It would feel like heaven compared to the Torts gulag

I think this is the best offer we can get. We tried to include Ceci, one of their up and coming D prospect, but the pushback was forceful and I don't blame them.

Oh I see so fans interest is in reality what a GM and a team want . In today's NHL unless a sure fire contender I can't see a team ( OTT ) on the bubble trading away young entry level assets for an aging / off injured / disappearing scorer . Gaborik will attract interest as a rental next year or as a UFA if not traded at deadline .

Stralman? What happened to him in this proposal? Id also pass on the second part of your proposal. Loved the first part though even though we dont need Yonkman with Stralman.

That's your opinion and you are entitled to it, but you are not the GM either.

Their window is not closing. Alfie may have a year or 2 left at most but Spezza is 30. They would be idiotic to trade Zibanejad for basically 1 chance at the Cup and even then it's a slim chance at best.

Trading Ziba for a guy that can put you over the top is something you go with. Unfortunately for Sens 1 player wont put them over the top.

Pretty much what I said .
Dropping cap , new NHL , not many ones are willing to just buy out players . While Gaby term left is short , entry level skill players with upside is the way if the league now . OTT is like said not one player away , especially with Karlsonn career in limbo . No one can be certain he will be the same player .
Now a team like Detroit , or Chicago if Sharpe could t come back or Kane went down I could see making a move . Maybe even Anaheim if they were certain perry wouldn't resign but this I doubt
