You know things are going well when people are regretting Mitchell walking.

I think it's just one guy who misses him. Advanced stats say Mitchell's the best player ever!

My Plan for the 2013 off-season:
Trades:
To NSH:
Richards
To NYR:
Hornqvist + Ellis + NSH 1st '13
.....
You think Richards has this much value?
I forgot w/apologies, but I believe it was iamitter who said if a player is traded to another team, THAT team can NOT buy out the traded player w/a compliance.
So presuming that is accurate, Nashville would be stuck with him. Unless...
Preds cannot move Webber before, but he has a huge contract .
Richards + massive overpay (_______? McD? + Stepan?)
for
Webber + rights to Radulov, assuming we even want?
Rebuilding...wtf... we've done that since the early 2000's. Something's wrong, we can't score. That's what's wrong. No trading D men for people who won't help us. We've seen this lack of finishing. Offense comes here to die.
Girardi average shot / uses wrister a lot / poor PP player
Staal average shot / uses wrister a lot / takes forever to get shot off / poor to avg PP player
MCd work in progress offensively / average shot / not used on PP enough IMO
MDZ average to above velocity , misses net , rare,y one times , when does misses net / flashes if good PP but still inconsistent .
The Rangers last year looked really bad before Mitchell and Hags were put together in lineup.
The previous 2 games they lost to Habs and Panthers. The shots were as followed:
Panthers - 38
Rangers - 20
Canadiens - 31
Rangers - 17
Mitchell and Hags inserted into lineup and outshoot WSH 32-21 and win game 6-3, start of 5 game win streak and November that turned around the season.
Mitchell was a special player along with how Hags in which they helped the Rangers move away from extensive shot blocking and starting to resemble some sort of puck carrying/distribution. The Rangers simply had more puck on stick with those two on the ice and their record showed that. Mitchell highest RelCorsi on Rangers last year, Hags 2nd, Dubi 3rd. Now with 2/3rds of best puck possessing players gone, team is mediocre.
For our Defense, its not so much quality of shot as it is simply hitting the net. I'd say that would be a good first step.
Radulov?
Puke.

Richards has some huge salary years coming up. Nashville is already paying Weber a mint. Cap recapture hurts the Rangers. They can still possibly take a cap penalty in the future if Richards doesn't fulfill the term of his contract and Richards is traded. Compliance buyout means the Rangers are only obligated to the buyout which doesn't count against the cap. Richards retires on them, the Rangers will take a cap penalty if he doesn't complete the contract. No black and white. Crystal clear.
Enough with John ****ing Mitchell. I don't give a **** about his possession numbers. But here's something you'd love:
Would you look at that? One goal off of Johnny Malkin and into the net, and three other ones because our Puck Possession Savior turns the puck over.

I have no doubt they COULD trade Richards if it ame to it. Probably get a decent to good package too.
But with the cap benefit recapture out there as a possibility I would expect them to buy him out instead -again if it came to it, he has a year and a half to find his game.
Nothing will happen until next year's deadline, at minimum.
