So who are the Avs centers at the moment? if you're moving a center, why wouldnt you want one back in return? just sayin...

I like Del Zotto, but I don't think he has top pairing potential at all. Top4, sure.

I completely agree, it's just my weird fear I have of trading young players. It wasn't so much that I think he's going to hit that status, more like I fear that he would by some freak chance.

It's happened before, but i would have to agree, with MDZ i just don't see it.

The team lacks depth at D and you want to trade MDZ? It's not like our third pairing D is lighting it up.

Team lacks depth at center too...

And they would be getting a defenseman in return, probably a right handed shot. Maybe someone who could be capable of working the point on the PP, because thats not Del Zotto.

ROR has had one decent/good? year out of 3.. His first 2 seasons he put up 26 pts each, the third season he put up 55. I'm just not seeing whats so great about him? if we can get him at a good price? sure.. but I'm in no way overpaying.

Can anyone give a decent break down on ROR? Based on some of the things I read, he could be like a ryan callahan in the center position (in terms of effect and on ice intelligence). If that's the case, that's amazing.

Yes, but you honestly want to trade your best scoring D man for him? Something they do not have excess of.

He had one good offensive year. He has been very good defensively his entire career.

And you do realize that he was 18 and 19 his first two years, right?

He had his 55 point season at age 20.

Its the equivalent of saying that JT Miller is not any good because he isnt putting up 50 points at age 19.

I would be very weary of this deal. It's not like the team is in the dumps and needs to make this move today.

Well, thats where getting another defensemen back in the deal comes in.. (if it were to happen that way). also, do you think Stralman can't play top 4 minutes? when Girardi was out, he did a hell of a job

Really? EJ is playing top pairing in Colorado, big guy at 6'5. Another Minnesotan.

O'Reilly would be the teams best overall center.

I wish everyone understood this.

Sure, Richards is our #1 guy, but the way he's playing as of late, ROR would certainly be the overall better player. Better than Stepan as well, especially if he comes over here and plays the way he did for the Avs last season.

He was used primarily in a defensive role as Duchene and Stastny got the offensive minutes. At 18 and 19 he was playing nightly against the other teams best players. Staple on the PK.

If you watch him play you would get it (not saying this as a bashing just hard to explain as stats don't tell the whole story)

I don't see how MDZ + Boyle can get you ROR and Johnson. If the Rangers added say Thomas and a third to that offer would it be close? Hypothetically speaking.

If I'm being honest, Rangers have enough offense already to win. since their streak of what? 6-2-1 in their last 9 or so, they are scoring a ton of goals. I don't think ROR is needed, but if we win the trade or it evens out, I'm ok with it.

I feel even if this trade is a win for the Rangers, that overall it would hurt us because there has been so much turnover this year and continually adding it is just going to make it worse. The loss of more chemistry would hurt more than what we would gain.
