If they're filling in for Havlat, then I doubt they'd make up the difference. At least not this season. If they're on the roster in their own right, then we'd be counting on a set of players to fill the production of one guy. I feel like we could fill that gap with a better player, either as part of the trade, or via another trade or free agency.

There's also the issue of paying a significant amount of money to an oft-injured player, which is one of the reasons Callahan is being shopped in the first place.

He's signed cheaply to what could be the #1 team in the West. Not happening with them unfortunately.

anyone else counting down till the summer of 2016 till Backes and Oshie both are UFA . id love if Sather and Rangers management can find a way to sign both players on July 1 2016 as a package deal like with Gomez and Drury .... Oshie will be 30 and Backes 32.

i bet both Oshie and Backes resign while they trade Berglund although Oshie and Backes will be UFA for the 1st time and try to take advantage of it..

backes is a beast.. since we're in the east its tough watching players out that way.. but him kessler and pavs would be a dream to have..

Beleskey is a pretty good player. Anaheim will move Etem before they move Beleskey. And they probably won't be moving either of them.

I would think behind both. Etem is not being moved, DSP would most likely be moved before either. Anaheim has the prospect depth if they would want to pull the trigger on Girardi.
