The Rangers should do nothing. They shouldn't trade Callahan, they shouldn't talk to Callahan's agent until after the season. They shouldn't trade anybody unless it REALLY improves the team. They should just do nothing.

I know the "Why can't we make any trades" crowd will be upset but I don't care.
 
So did I read the past few pages too fast or did we just brush over that Kesler news very quickly? Also am I wrong for thinking we should be closer to this being over?

He's been HORRENDOUS.

Stepan is 23 and has room to grow. He doesn't have nearly the sample size that Marc-Andre has. I just think it's a little hypocritical of you to assume Stepan will never improve in the playoffs, but give Fleury a break because he won a Cup with a stacked team 5 years ago, and has been absolutely hands down the worst player in the postseason for any team at any position since.

I'm not assuming he won't improve, my point is I'm not assuming anything. Hypocrisy would be assuming Fleury will suck and Stepan won't.

Safe to say that Sather offered Callahan to Tampa for MSL and to Vancouver for Kesler. Wasn't enough for Tampa and Kesler hates AV. There hasn't been any indication that Sather is willing to take on futures for Callahan. And what established forwards are still on the table? I'm expecting the announcement of an extension.

I'm unimpressed too. Part of me feels like it stems from the asinine media policies of MSG/Dolan and none of them being allowed back in the building if they ever are found to let the cat out of the bag on something. But it's weird that it's the Canadian media who always is on top of the Rangers trade and signing news before the beaters. It may have to do with the connections inside the NHL offices.
 
Stepan will turn into a 50-60 point 2 way center.. which is very good, maybe not a "#1" but a very good center nonetheless.

If it means not signing Cally to a ridiculous deal then yes I agree as well. Problem is well all continue to speculate on extension for another four months and I don't think the board can handle that. Lol
 
Caps get R&B Grammy winner Chris Brown on there team. This is crazy. First the had the Mask Jim Carey and now a singer. At least they got a hockey player also with Chris Brown and got rid of Erat in the process

I think you're right that it has at least something to do with MSG's media policy. Though, rather than from NHL headquarters, the big Canadian media guys probably gets their scoops from the player agents and the other team's front office.

Sather makes a deadline of noon otherwise they decide to trade him, McKenzie said 5 hours ago that it was very close to make or break time. Come on, if he hasn't come down to 6/36 yet then it will never happen. Hold firm Cally, hold firm. I hope the Sather and or Gorton look around and suddenly snap out of it and realize what the hell they are offering.

Agreed, the longer the holdout, the better the sign, fingers crossed.

For the beating, he deserves 6.5, go get it in Buffalo. No NYC tax either.

Is Callahan on Twitter? You guys should get #standfirmcally trending. Make him think we're behind him, only so he gets traded.

Im in.

Rangers snooping around on Kesler in the first place doesnt give me much hope that we'll be able to avoid a bang tomorrow.

im guessing Rangers. this has Sather all over it.. i would not mind because it would add some scoring but the need is size up front with skill.. he would do the opposite. :help:
