Gaborik does not scare me at all.

Kesler to Pittsburgh, yeah, that scares me. They'd have Crosby/Malkin and a legit shutdown line.

I love Gabby but he'll disappear in the playoffs, as usual. Add in the fact that he's a shell at this point anyway. I was sad when we traded him but Glen's looking like he was right on the money there.

P.S. JT's mugshot is hilarious. He's got such a **** eating grin on his face.

If 300K is really the only gap left, the deal will get done.

It'll be just north of 6M, signing bonuses and a limited NTC probably.

I don't care about any bridge-jumpers, I'll get to watch my favorite player stay a Ranger for his career. I'll be very happy.

If Boston adds Gaborik and Pitt adds Kesler, does anyone think this team has a legit shot?

Yeah. Pittsburgh is overrated, but the Bruins would be more scary. Although, they're better off trading for a defender with Seidenberg out.

You really think that the Gaborik trade is scarier then Pitt having

Crosby
Malkin
Kesler

That team will win.

And that he will, because he'll be in forced retirement halfway through the contract. How anyone can be on board with this is beyond me.

Not sure if it's out there or not, but told Callahan's latest offer was 6-years at $6.3M per season. Rangers declined, set on 6/$6M per

So THIS is what Sather is stingy about? I'm seriously getting *** nauseous reading all this. Please just trade him.

Sather has offered him 6 MILLION a year and yet Sather is the Stingy one?

I'm sorry dude, but that's blind loyalty

They have zero depth on wings, their defense is crap and their goaltending is a crapshoot.

The deal is going to get done. Just don't see anyway it doesn't at this point. Well, Sather definitely could have spent that $6MM much more wisely.

If Boston hypothetically gets Gaborik, and Pittsburgh gets Kesler. I'll still take Boston.. Boston is the cream of the crop in the East, not Pittsburgh.

You do realize that adding Kesler adds one of the best defensive centers in the game.

Also, Fleury has been solid this year, obviously, the playoffs is a wild card and there defense has been fine.

We have way more issues then Pitt.

Let's just hope Sather isn't too drunk, and mistakingly agrees to a 12 year, $120 million contract.

Win? Probably but who knows. I think losing Sutter is going to have a negative effect in the short term.

Incidentally if I'm Pittsburgh I would go after Martin Brodeur. He is the perfect backup for Fleury going into the playoffs.

They replace Sutter with Kesler, the FAR superior player.

What negative effect?

Agreed. Boston's the team to beat right now in the East. That team is just built for playoff hockey.
