Gaborik is done, anyone who is in support of moving assets for him is living in the past.
I don't want to trade guys for St. Louis. Callahan straight up, I guess, but I'd prefer we leveraged him for picks and prospects.
Bringing in a 39 year old, even like St. Louis, unless it's for nearly free, is stupid.
He's inevitably going to decline soon. I'd prefer not to see that happen in a Rangers uniform.
If he's cheap, sure. But i'm not trading assets for this guy. That's not how you build a winner. I've said it a thousand times and this weekend was further proof, we are not yet contenders and getting St. Louis, in my opinion, does not make us one.
I thought Kesler didn't want to come here.
I said nothing of moving assets for him. Just posed a question and made a statement.
Watch they wind up giving him 7.5MThe trade deadline isn't even over for Buffalo, and they project to be 20 million under the salary cap floor next season.
Let's hope Ryan Callahan's camp is willing to go UFA, as there is one hell of a blank check awaiting upstate.
Apparently he and AV do not see eye to eye.
XXX here we come!
Which fits perfectly, because we're all about to be ****ed if Callahan is signed.
Seriously, 6x6 is already approaching extreme overpayment. Sather says he won't budge off that? I call bs. Rangers need to do the right thing and trade him.
So an trade for him is moot.
But everyone would agree that Brassard and Callahan for Kesler would be fair, right?

that basically becomes Brassard for Kesler, dont think that gets it done. but then again Sutter and a 1st is just as bad.
Highway robbery for the Rangers.

Not sure if it's out there or not, but told Callahan's latest offer was 6-years at $6.3M per season. Rangers declined, set on 6/$6M per
So THIS is what Sather is stingy about? I'm seriously getting *** nauseous reading all this. Please just trade him.
If Boston adds Gaborik and Pitt adds Kesler, does anyone think this team has a legit shot?

Gaborik does not scare me at all.
Kesler to Pittsburgh, yeah, that scares me. They'd have Crosby/Malkin and a legit shutdown line.

Gaborik gives them ANOTHER highly effective goal scorer. Marchand, Lucic, Iginla, Eriksson, Reilly, Gaborik. Bergeron and Kreijci on the wing. That team would scare me over a 7 game series.
