You sold a dead bird to a blind kid????
Hilarious that Marner won’t waive the NTC but is “more than willing to go to market.” I bet that went over well with the Shanaplanners and Leaf Blowers.
Best part is they lose them for nothingHilarious that Marner won’t waive the NTC but is “more than willing to go to market.” I bet that went over well with the Shanaplanners and Leaf Blowers.
No but every GM entering a rebuild would. Literally not one guy fetched that premium of an asset in a trade since St. Louis' offer sheet non-sense in the 90's or the initial Lindros trade.Would you accept less than that for Suzuki? You'd accept a couple mid 1sts and a guy like Mailloux for Suzuki?
Every GM entering a rebuild would not trade a Robert Thomas, just like why we wouldn't trade Suzuki without a premium asset coming back.No but every GM entering a rebuild would. Eichel got less.
Jeff Carter might be the only one that actually fetched such a big return but Voracek was seen as a bust not likely to reach his potential at that point.
Teams don't move elite U21 players. Most of the time it's comparable salary plus misc futures or a decent roster player ++ for a better guy.
Man he was so f***ing good that first year. Shame how it went afterwards but he was exactly what that forward group needed. Radulov is the only other instant impact UFA I can think of that was on the same level.Erik Cole
Is Robert Thomas a kid from Longueuil and only want to play for Mtl? Just stop man, you are not gettting a 25yold PPG two way center captain for that shitty offer. There's 30 team that would beat that offer. Try it in NHL25, wont even work lmfaoNo but every GM entering a rebuild would. I didn't even make an offer. My point is Thomas will get futures or a combination of a mid-tier roster player and futures. That's how every big trade of the entirety of the cap era has gone.Is Robert Thomas a kid from Longueuil and only want to play for Mtl? And please dont post that on the main board jesus
We didnt traded Suzuki during our rebuild, no need for them tp trade Thomas. Are they even in a rebuild?I didn't even make an offer. My point is Thomas will get futures or a combination of a mid-tier roster player and futures. That's how every big trade of the entirety of the cap era has gone.
Same. Depending on the price I'd definitely add him and watch him elevate one of our top 2 lines.Boy I would love Marner on this team
Gotta think gonzo as UFA….wonder if HuGo would be interested?
I think Marner would bring out the best in Slaf’s development to becoming a top line playerBro i want him bad. A player that has the trifecta .
Leaves the leafs , says no way to Carolina and has gotten Canada a win in the 4 nations
Well they're the same age and we're in year 4 of our rebuild while St. Louis is only starting their's this summer? Do you think in four years 30 year old Thomas is going to be leading the team out of the rebuild? Or can they even bottom out to get elite pieces with him there? We didnt traded Suzuki during our rebuild, no need for them tp trade Thomas. Are they even in a rebuild?

Bottom of the line we gotta give a lot for a Robert Thomas, lots of team would.Well they're the same age and we're in year 4 of our rebuild while St. Louis is only starting their's this summer? Thomas will be 26 at the start of their rebuild. Nick was still on his ELC when we started ours.
Maybe they'll just re-tool and decide to be a mid-tier team but if they're actually rebuilding Thomas would be their most valuable asset. It's not like they have any elite upcoming prospects or players that are pushing them beyond wildcard 2 and their D is old as dirt. Snuggerud and Dvorsky likely just replace what they're losing internally to age.
They're built exactly like the 2010 St. Louis team that had a lot of good not great players and good not great prospects. Almost none of those players made it to the 2019 cup winning roster.
Hope we draft 2 more centers for ours first rounders this year.Unless they trade for a young top 6 center this summer, which would be very expensive, the Habs will have to try to sign Tavares or Giroux or Duchesne for 2-3 years while waiting for a prospect (center) to develop. It will be important to select several center players during the next 2 drafts because currently, other than Hage, we do not have another top 6 center.
And yes,Dach and Newhook were mystakes
Marner as a Hab? I’d want to see it just to read @sampollock ‘s reaction. It would be priceless.Signing in Montreal could be the ultimate middle finger
Hope we draft 2 more centers for ours first rounders this year.
Well I mean he's on a stacked team and they've actually added pieces and have good goaltending. He's hoping for a good playoff, maybe a cup (lol), and then cashing in extra off of that. He's committed to going for it with Toronto one more time. If they somehow win the cup, he's now 'one of the gods' haha. If they don't he can walk away and try somewhere else. Sucks for the leafs, but he's allowed to worry about his own interests. It's not like he's checked out on the ice.Hilarious that Marner won’t waive the NTC but is “more than willing to go to market.” I bet that went over well with the Shanaplanners and Leaf Blowers.
You really think hes gonna be there at 12-14ov?!?! I don’t. What’s up with that « an other C », it’s not like we have a ton in the pipeline/nhl lmfaoWhat if Mrtka is available? Pass on him for another C?
