An interesting idea would be trading for Brock Nelson and extending him. We probably have way more of a chance to extend him if we trade for him than bank on him signing with us in free agency. That being said, I'm terrified for what he would ask for and he's turning 34 next season.

My gut tells me he tests UFA no matter what. He's dialed in I don't think a sign and trade will happen. He will be a rental for a contender and then will be all ours come summer

Nelson has a lot of suitors so he will probably go for a high price if he gets traded especially with so few centers available

While I do think we can make the assets work, it's moreso how interested he is coming here. He will probably signs with the Wild.

if Dach can't play there, try any other W we have... Roy/Heineman/Newhook/ETC.

Barzal has led his team in points in 6 of his 7 seasons with the team. Last season he had a point-per-game with 80 points.

Barzal is a career 72 point player.
Horvat is a career 57 point player.

My bad read it as career high not average. His last 3 years average is 68 pts. Scoring was lower when he entered the league. He was also behind EP40 for a while.

Of the two I think Armia has more left in the tank and is 2+ years younger.

I'd try 1 year at $2.85M or two years at $2.4M, no trade protection.

Savard would be 1 year at no more than $1.4M
