HF Habs: Trade Proposal Thread #91: 2025 Trade Deadline edition

What makes you sense a significant addition? Not saying he 100% won’t but that type of deal is usually an off-season thing.
The way the playoff chase is shaping up, NJD are toast, if Raymond’s gone for any period of time Det is too reliant on the PP which Raymond’s a significant part of so they become toast + Wings have the toughest schedule down the stretch.

The question though is acquisition cost - none of Redenbacher, Demidov, Fowler, Beck or Hage will be available so what for example does a cheap bastard like Dundon accept for Rantanen because I really don’t see him accepting just losing him for nothing as UFA after Guentzel fiasco last year.

If HuGo offer up say a 1st + 2nd + 3rd which Canes can flip w prospect to acquire a Boeser does that work? Or does Uncle Lou take that offer + grade B prospect for Nelson?

HuGo hold a huge advantage with 1st round picks - no other team in the race can offer up, at present, a projected 1st as high as Habs can (their own)

Next 2-days will be fascinating

I don't think either gets dealt. The locker room wants them to add, not subtract well-liked vets. Didn't Armia sign in the offseason after the cup run?
I don't think habs budge. They only have 6 Dmen on this trip, I don't think they're dealing savard either.
As far Dvorak is concerned, are they going to retain to get another 3rd rounder?

Wow are the Lightning losing their mind? They gave 2 1st and 1 2nd draft picks for 2 middling forwards. They are wasting their draft picks when they are clearly headed toward a rebuild with their team top players getting old.

They clearly needed them?

I have no idea otherwise.. haha

I think Savard is more likely to get dealt. RHD would return more on trade market and we probably want to give Reinbacher some games here, he could very well be an upgrade on Savard too. I don't see a good replacement for Armia in Laval.

we will add a forward or two, even if it simply a 4th line type players .

Insane to give up on a player of that quality after 10 games. Guess he really doesn’t want to stay.

But still, at least try and go on a run with him.
Canes gave up two youngish assets to acquire him - they operate on the cheap, after acquiring Guentzel last year who they felt they could extend and he bolted … I don’t see Dundon being ok with rinse & repeat.

Hard to believe 1st + scrap is getting us Cozens. Any team would beat that.

I’ll do Beck + mid/late first.
The $7.150M AAV greatly reduces the trade value if there is no retention.

IMO the best strategy is to sign a vet for the 2C role this summer. Keep our prospect and draft two more quality ones in june.

I'm leaning to a short term vet solution as well.

I’ll do Beck + mid/late first. Chance are really low that first do anything in the NhL. I like Beck, but would surprise if he became more than a 40pts player which is what Cozens seems to be at his worst right now.

Buffalo is a shit show. Just look at what some of their former top prospects did with other teams. I’m not saying Cozens will explode here for sure but I’m willing to take a chance.

Concenssus is we don’t want to give Demidov/Hage/Fowler, and it’s ok. On the other hand we can’t expect to get a top young players in return for subpar elements.

Yes, it's a good strategy for all our needs. There's just no sense in extending anyone right now over being able to consider potential improvements.

I miss Bob for that matter. No negotiations during the season was harsh and sometimes silly, but it paid off many times.
