Saw a tweet that Minnesota is trying to get Nyquist. Does his game match Evans? Ie PK?

Nyquist is listed as a center on some websites, but he is a winger. He has more offence than Evans and doesn’t see much PK time.
There is also an age gap of 7 years between the two as Nyquist is 35 and Evans 28.

Okay then take the words of Rangers fans the last two years. They were unanimous in disliking him and saying he’s awful. I mean I don’t know how much proof people need. Statistically awful. Awful by the eye test.

But I guess he was decent 3 years ago so that’s what people who watch him play 3 times a year have in their heads.

I disagree. The issue is that the team has had a plethora of 2nd line centers playing on the 1st line.

Regardless center depth has been a serious issue pretty much since the Dynasty ended.

If Bennett hit the market, I’m pretty confident they will offer him more than any other teams.

And as history shows, he will pick another team. Here's a little piece of advice: Don't get your hopes up regarding 'desirable' UFAs. They never sign here.

The fact is that Montreal is 1 rung up from Winnipeg as a popular UFA landing spot.

Thoughts on these:

1. We trade for Seth Jones and he is our no.1 RHD. Plays with Hutson on top pair. Matheson is traded. Other pairings stay the same. Reinbacher has all the time he needs to develop, likely an issue in a couple years.

2. We trade for Nemec and he plays bottom pair with Savard getting traded. We have Nemec and Reinbacher as possible top RHD of the future.

However, I think the 2C is the most important need since Dach obviously isnt winning that spot this year.

They can't move him now because they need his LTIR. Maybe an off-season move. Only 2 years left. Would be a good short term pickup.

Yes I meant as an offseason move. I think he'd be a lot cheaper than most alternatives and his contract is pretty much exactly what we want for the time being.

Hilarious to see the Rangers being complete failure once again. Get Ufa for frees , get budget deals due to being NY (which is the shithole of the US) and still can't build a team.

Extending Shesterkin was a mistake.

1 . Keep that twat as far as humanly possible from Montreal
2 . I don't dislike the idea, but what are you trading for Nemec? The Devils won't give him away for Savard and Evans, unless it's a signed Evans at a very team-friendly deal, and that's probably not even enough.

If we were picking say top 5-6 and 15th Im thinking it could be pretty close. But then we want an in prime productive 2 way C , and why would a team trade such a guy away ? Just because the value is there doesnt make a deal. Top Cs for top Ds maybe.

Man, says something about the added value an ironman player brings to a club.

Of course, some may be freak injuries and bad luck but when a player suffers so many significant ones, a GM’s managerial IQ is also measured by how well he does his due diligence and knowing when to cut bait or not committing long term.

If Habs are picking 5-6, there is bound to be a top 6C worth selecting.
