I mean, it would be okay to have him but he isn't for sale.I mean Danault is pretty much what you asked (50 points, good defensively and on the dot).
Blame Bergevin.

Likely? We had trouble against the lowly Sharks. With us likely winning both of our next 2 games vs Buffalo I really don’t see KH doing anything. I imagine we will keep all of our players.
Perhaps a minor league AHL deal at best.
If he were to come it's because he wants to. He has a NMC and Pitts would be dealing of a position of weakness, so it wouldn't cost the moon. Obviously would cost something, but not as much as some think. Again, it would be a one team negotiation in this instance. He is too old for the price he'd cost us. The price would make sense for a contender that could be a Crosby away from a cup. But for us he's too old. We'd have to sell off a ton of futures for a guy that'll be 38 next season when we haven't even made the playoffs yet in this rebuild.
He is +12 this year. So his defensive game is still top.I mean, it would be okay to have him but he isn't for sale.
If Nyquist was more interesting than Evans or Armia, we sure aren't getting that.Evans and Savard at 50% should fetch a first or 2nd and prospect.
No one said that. Everyone wanted him to sign here and had he made it to free agency there's a good chance he might have.BUT EVERYONE SAID HE WAS SIGNING WITH THE HABS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If they are picked that high in a year of multiple high upside centre candidates, they may not need all that time.Yes but ready in 2 or 3 years.
Aka Paul Byron FAFO.The Komisarek syndrome.
Or, as previously stated by management, they aren't about to gut the team for futures while in middle of playoff hunt.Looks like we missed out on a trade with Minny.. I bet management sits on their asses and watch the parade.

Guess they can try packaging to move up to 7-8 if the C they want is still on the board.we won't pick that high unfortunately...more like 9-14
That's because there's so few sellers. Unless we lose out until next Friday then I'm not even sure if we're going to be sellers.Prices look very high right now, could be a good deadline for us
What do purpose we give up for these two?Thoughts on these:
1. We trade for Seth Jones and he is our no.1 RHD. Plays with Hutson on top pair. Matheson is traded. Other pairings stay the same. Reinbacher has all the time he needs to develop, likely an issue in a couple years.
2. We trade for Nemec and he plays bottom pair with Savard getting traded. We have Nemec and Reinbacher as possible top RHD of the future.
However, I think the 2C is the most important need since Dach obviously isnt winning that spot this year.
Habs better be sellers. That's because there's so few sellers. Unless we lose out until next Friday then I'm not even sure if we're going to be sellers.
We have Buffalo x2 and Edmonton (who are on a terrible streak right now) before the deadline. If we grab 4 to 6 points before the deadline I just can't see Hughes selling.Habs better be sellers.
They need roster spots for new players to take the next step, they don't need to run it back and hope they incrementally get better.
Habs letting Dvorak go allows for one spot to improve their team.
Letting Savard walk and not tendering Struble leaves 1 spot.
Hughes said he’d stick with the plan (long term plan, I’m assuming). It’s not the team’s record in the few games since returning from the break that is going to decide what they were going to do.Habs better be sellers.

Whatever anyone is thinking to give up for those two, I’d like it to be whatever is disposable after a 2C is obtained. But, that’s just my opinion. What do purpose we give up for these two?

That could just mean not be buyers and, especially, not buyers of short term fixes with ageing veterans in supporting cast roles, for example.Hughes said he’d stick with the plan (long term plan, I’m assuming). They will be tendering Struble. What are you talking about?Habs better be sellers.

Many posters said he would be a UFA.Not as tough, but there's always Jeannot

Good for him and Columbus to keep him.
Struble has been very meh. They will be tendering Struble. What are you talking about?
Wouldn't surprise me if Savard is back as 7th D.
Giving spots to young players before they earn it is not a good idea.
They're passed that stage now.
Other than Demidov, there are no sure things.
