Depends what you look for. A guy like Sergachev maybe Dach+ 1st. But not a top 15D in the league if this is what they want.

Maybe my definition of top pairing is wrong. If you mean a guy who can play on the first pairing then it’s different than of you mean a #1RHD, which there isn’t a lot of in the league.

You're being extremely reductive. A soon to be first time UFA, of suitable value, will be sold for much less. The job to be done in that case is rather related to being able to retain such a talent, rather than pay up in assets for a players who's already signed long term.

Like Rasmuss Anderson? Or Seth Jone? Dach and 1st would maybe work (my first post meant to saw one or the other). Maybe a B prospect on top

But if you mean name like Dobson, I don’t think a low tier barely 2C like Dach and late first is enough. It would cost a piece like a Caufield or a Ghule IMO.

Look at what Pietrangelo was traded for. Stop the fearmongering. It all depends on the player's contract status and the trading team's finances and position. The right opportunity might not cost a lot in assets, but rather dishing out a big contract, which we will be in good position to do. We need to wait for that right opportunity, but it's bound to happen.

You probably would find more takers for Lane, than teams willing to give up what you're looking for. They just didn't draft with hit, block, clear the crease as a priority. It's not the way they want to play it seems.

He's more a 7th d than a bottom pair d imo.

Reading the last 2 pages , it’s crazy how a few posters that went crazy with drafting reinbacher, a rd go on and on about how impossible it is to find rd and that we would have to trade half the farm to get a decent one

Also needs to be mobile with good puck retrieval skills.
Savard's lack of mobility killed Lane by keeping him turned the wrong way.
Get the the puck and get it to Hutson in space...
