I'd trade caufield for another big piece. Regardless of media being toxic, his answer about the anthem situation isn't going to let him stay here long term. He completely lacks an understanding of what Canada means to Canadians. It's almost like suggesting and supporting renaming the rocket Richard to the ovechkin.

Dobson, Tkachuk, cozens++, anyone else out and available?

Caufield is a stud and this insignificant episode will blow over. Not worth losing a stud on a good contract for this reason.

I don't know about Hutson but I promise if The Habs are in on Dobson...It will cost at least one of the names that will make us go on a rampage. He won't be had for scraps and futures.

Caufield is a young man put in an awkward situation due to politics and the Habs ought to have prepared him for the obvious question. Chill out. Not trading him and I like him as much as I did before that question.

No to Dobson. We have Hutson. We need more of an Andersson type of 2 way guy. If he has the ceiling, go for Nemec and then keep Matheson for 2 more years but trade Savard now.

In the summer see about finding a 2C if Dach hasn't come through. If Duchene is available as a UFA we can outbid anybody so sign him to a 2-3 year deal. Otherwise it's the trade route.

We aren't trading Fowler. We don't have a starting goalie or even a for sure back up. His value is still limited and just a sweetener on a bigger deal. Absolutely not worth trading him.
