HF Habs: Trade Proposal Thread #89: 2024-2025 season part II

I've seen Cozens and Suzuki on the golf course together in SW Ontario during the off-season. Know someone who trained with them. This was 2 or 3 years ago. Not sure if Cozens is still training here, but I think the two are buddies.

Laine for Cozens straight up. We take the long term risk of Cozens. Buffalo gets the short term contract and out from Cozens contract.

We would seriously have to do our homework though.

Move Dach to the wing and roll with...

Caufield - Suzuki - Slaf
Demidov - Cozens - Dach

OR.......

Trade a futures package for Cozens and keep Laine. Then move Dach down. Not sure what kind of future package Buffalo would want but probably start with Beck and add from there.

Beck + Calgary 1st + Mailloux + Evans

Caufield - Suzuki - Slaf
Laine - Cozens - Demidov
Heinemen - Dach - Newhook

Call us the 2019 team - Dach - Cozens - Caufield - Newhook

After acquiring Peterson, I don’t think they would be looking at trading Hronek for a LD, let alone adding Raty on top.

I also think that if Evans is gone, they will go for another vet to replace him while Beck/Kapanen fight for the Dvorak spot.
Yup, that's right. I probably would have offered Matheson for Rangers first and Raty before Pettersson trade though. I think it's good value

Suzuki is 25. He is entering his prime. In 3 years he'll be in the middle of it. He's also not the most important piece of this rebuild. If he remains one of our 2 best players the rebuild will be a failure. The focus should be the younger guys. I like Nick be he always was going to be a 28-29 years old vet once the team was going to be ready to win.

I am with you on this.I would add that both his agent and Hughes are awarded that at one point, his S% was at 30% (now at 21%). He can't maintain that statistic. Therefore, i don't think he will ask the moon to re-sign

I don't think his agent is going to push too much on that 21% shot accuracy. I think he's going to push the 3C need from several teams card. Evan's value extends well deeper than goals and assists.

Except, Cozens make almost twice as much money as Dach..............if we are disappointed with Dach, and his 3.3M deal...........how pi$$ed are we gonna be with Cozens and his 7M dollar deal??
Would guess there is more disappointment with his play than his deal.

Of course.......but as we see with most players, they are even more worse when the performance is awful and then correlates to their $$$ earned.
Most habs fans realize that Anderson, Dvo, and Gally make way too much money most nights......and it shows in the comments.

I dread that scenario but with Suzuki / Dach / Evans / Beck / Kapanen being righties and the lack of Centers available on the market, there is a possibility Hugues trades Evans and re-signs Dvo for 2-3 years :help:

Dvorak gets Evans duties (3C/PK) and either Beck or Kapanen is 4C. I really hope they make a move for a middle 6 lefty C instead.

A left shot 2C is definitely a target. The good news for us is that right shot centers are actually big commodities in the NHL, so the fact we have a surplus should put us in a good spot to beat some other offers when the right players become available on the trade market.

Is there a contending team that could possibly take on both Evans and Armia to solidify their bottom 6 and PK? We could take on a cap dump to help offset it with the addition of a legitimate, somewhat established young player in return.

I am hoping there are GMs out there in the summer that think as highly of Dach as the people in the Dach thread so we can get a decent return for him. We need to get a vet 2C to play with Demidov next year and to give time for Hage to get ready.

Cozens is a pure center. Is he a 2C or a 3C, still don't know.

Anyways, Cozens is going to the Canucks so it's not worth waisting time.

We have very different opinions, that's for sure 😅

He's a shoot first, speed player who gravitates toward the boards whenever he is transporting the puck.

He's a winger profile.

Problem is there are more teams looking for top 6 centers than available players who fit that profile.
